Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met on Tuesday
evening with Ramadan Abdullah the head of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and his
accompanying delegation. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that
the recent wave of Islamic Awakening and the developments of the past year are
indicative of the increasing decline of the west and increasing power of the
world of Islam. He stressed: "If members of the Islamic Ummah in different
countries remain committed to selfless struggle, resistance and trust in God,
God will definitely assist them, just as we have witnessed over the past year."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the regional developments of the past year as a divine blessing and added: "These developments are the beginning of the path and by Allah's favor, there will be more victories along the path."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that selfless struggle and jihad are the requirements for divine assistance. He reiterated: "Over the past 32 years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always managed to go through difficult stages and by Allah's favor, it will powerfully continue its path in the future as well."
His Eminence referred to the conditions of Syria and added: "Regarding Syria, if the developments are considered from a broad and comprehensive perspective, it becomes completely clear what plot America has designed for Syria and unfortunately certain countries inside and outside the region are cooperating with America in this plot."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "The main goal that America pursues in Syria is to deliver a blow to the resistance front in the region because Syria supports the Palestinian resistance groups and the Lebanese Islamic Resistance."
Ayatollah Khamenei added: "If the Syrian government promises the Americans that it will stop supporting the Islamic resistance of Palestinian and Lebanese groups, all issues will come to an end. Supporting resistance groups is the only crime that Syria has committed."
His Eminence reiterated: "The Americans and certain other western countries want to use Syria to compensate for their recent defeats in the region - particularly, in Egypt and Tunisia."
He reiterated: "The position of the Islamic Republic regarding Syria is to support any kind of reforms that would benefit the Syrian people and to oppose the interference of America and its followers in the internal affairs of Syria."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to Iran's scientific advances and stressed: "Scientific movements of the country are in all scientific and technological areas and in certain cases, our advances are unimaginable for many people."
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope that the scientific movement in Iran would spread to other Islamic countries and that the Islamic Ummah would achieve extraordinary capabilities in science and technology.
In this meeting, Mr. Ramadan Abdullah presented a report on the developments in Palestine, particularly in Gaza. He said: "Islamic Awakening and the regional developments are a very valuable opportunity for Muslim nations, particularly for the people of Palestine, and everybody should watch out for the enemies' efforts to cause sedition."
He added: "Islamic civilization has begun returning to its glorious era and the Islamic Republic of Iran is playing an outstanding and unparalleled role in the resurgence of Islamic civilization. For this reason, the camp of the arrogant powers has increased its pressure on Iran."
The head of Palestinian Islamic Jihad also referred to the developments in Syria and said: "Westerners are trying to take Syria - which is a base for resistance in the region - away from the camp of resistance."
