Ayatollah Khamenei the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces met today with Navy commanders and personnel. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence referred to the progressive and fruitful movement of the Navy after the Islamic Revolution and reiterated: "The Islamic Revolution brought about dignity for the Iranian nation and government officials. Thanks to this dignity, Iran has stood up against the will of the biggest arrogant and colonial powers and it has crushed their will."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that it is important to establish security in the southern waters of the country and added that the Navy will respond to foreign threats in a glorious way.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that colonial powers, especially England, have a long record of humiliating other nations, destroying their civilizational and historical heritage, instilling a sense of national incompetence and taking control of their resources. He reiterated: "During the era of Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties, government officials used to bow to the demands of the hegemons. If a nation feels weak against the enemy, it will not be able to do anything, but the Islamic Revolution brought about dignity for Iran and everybody should appreciate this dignity."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution called on the Naval Forces of the Islamic Republic to strengthen themselves and to carry out their responsibilities in serious way.
