Ayatollah Khamenei the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces met today with commanders of the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps (IRGC). Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei criticized those who fuel disputes in the country and added: "Do they not see the joy of foreign propaganda organizations and their analyses? The joy of the enemies shows that this is a weakness. Therefore, it is necessary to put an end to these disputes."Ayatollah Khamenei said that avoiding harmful actions is essential for maintaining the progressive and revolutionary movement of the Islamic system. He added: "One of these harmful actions is to fuel discord and uproar, and all governmental organizations should be cautious in this regard."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "It is necessary to reduce differences of opinion and taste as much as possible and to avoid fueling debates that would give rise to discord."
His Eminence stressed the need to distinguish between differences of opinion and opposition to the Islamic Revolution, further adding: "A certain movement may stand up against the Islamic Revolution, in which case everybody is definitely responsible to defend the Revolution, and this was what happened after the [post-election] events of the year 1388."
He added: "But sometimes it is just a matter of differences of taste and opinion, not opposition to the Revolution. In such conditions, it is everybody's duty to avoid fueling differences of opinion and to take all aspects into consideration and clarify issues in the face of wrong thoughts."
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "I am not opposed to logical clarification in the face of wrong thoughts, but these wrong thoughts should not be made public."
His Eminence stressed the need to avoid causing uproar when clarifying issues and said that uproar works against logical reasoning.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that it is necessary to preserve unity in society and added: "Everybody should stand up against the enemy like a unified front and like an impenetrable wall."
Elsewhere in his statements, his Eminence said that the IRGC should improve its capability and vigilance in all aspects in order to be able to make progress. He reiterated that the first generation of the IRGC grew up in the atmosphere of the early revolutionary era and the Sacred Defense Era. "The current generation of the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps should be far superior in terms of knowledge, awareness, insight and self-sacrifice and in terms of carrying out their responsibilities in an appropriate and timely manner. This is because a subtler and more dangerous war is going on right now although we are not involved in a military conflict."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution explained the nature of the IRGC as the guardian of the Revolution and said: "Guardianship of the Revolution should not be interpreted as being conservative and preserving the current situation of the Revolution."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the Revolution is by nature a progressive and accelerated movement towards the goals that have been delineated. He reiterated: "Guardianship of the Revolution means maintaining the progressive and revolutionary movement of the Islamic system."
Ayatollah Khamenei advised members of the IRGC to preserve and strengthen their hope, determination, efforts and progressive movement, further adding: "One of the necessary things in the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps is to have constant planning."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the regional developments and described them as unprecedented. He said that these developments are a new chapter in the history of the region and the world. "In these developments, ordinary people with monotheistic and divine tendencies are truly present in the arena, and a new chapter has begun in the history of the region and the world."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that America and the Zionists are afraid of the Islamic Republic becoming a role model for the people of the region. He added: "America and the Zionist regime cannot change existing realities, no matter how frequently they deny Islamic tendencies of the people of the region in their propaganda and their media."
He stressed: "The next wave of the movement that has started in the region will be in the countries outside the region, and such an event will definitely happen."
