Leader Warns Against Encouraging Enemies

 In a meeting with mayors and a number of other government officials from across the country, Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that it is necessary to avoid any action which would upset friends and encourage enemies to cause uproar.

His Eminence stressed the need for solidarity and stated: "If our actions lead to cooperation and solidarity, Allah the Exalted will definitely increase His blessings on a daily basis."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that City and Village Councils are very important and significant within the framework of the Islamic Republic. He added that the constitutional requirement to establish City and Village Councils shows that the Islamic Republic of Iran respects intellectual diversity. "And this is the opposite of what reactionary and autocratic systems of government do."

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is proud of the fact that it has deeply respected the opinion of the people since the first day.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that independence is one of the prominent characteristics of the Islamic Republic of Iran, further adding: "Thanks to Islam, we have managed to preserve our Iranian identity, and this reality should be reflected in all municipal affairs and services."

His Eminence stressed that preserving piety in the cities and villages of the country is the main driving force behind the progress of the country.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also stressed the need for harmony among City and Village Councils and all other organizations of the country. He reiterated: "Any kind of disharmony and negative competition is extremely harmful to the country."
