Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with thousands of people from Qom. This meeting was held on the occasion of the historical uprising of the people Qom against the Pahlavi regime on the 19th of Dey, 1356. Speaking at the meeting, the Leader said that insight, sense of responsibility and commitment, and timely presence on the scene are the three main factors that bring about success in divine tests and prepare the ground for material and spiritual progress. He reiterated: "After succeeding in different divine tests throughout the past 32 years, the Iranian nation is more powerful today than ever before, and with strong determination, vigilance and solidarity it will continue its journey towards the peaks of happiness, perfection and immaculate life in this world and in the hereafter."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the uprising of the people of Qom on the 19th of Dey was indicative of the fact that the people of Qom are pioneers in insight, sense of responsibility and presence on the scene. He added: "The movement of the people of Qom on the 19th of Dey in 1356 was a strong slap to the faces of the taghuti regime and the camp of arrogance. Led by Imam Khomeini (r.a.), this movement prepared the way for the victory of the Islamic Revolution on the 22nd of Bahman in 1357."
His Eminence stressed that the insight, sense of commitment and timely presence of the people of Qom are the reasons why the enemies are extremely sensitive to Qom Seminary and the people of Qom. "The reaction of the enemies to the show of power by the people, Islamic seminary, religious scholars and youth of Qom during the Leader's trip to this holy city was indicative of the high spirits [of the people of Qom], the greatness of this movement and vulnerability of the enemies."
The Leader said that the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the way the world of kufr and arrogance have reacted during the past 32 years are another instance of the vulnerability of the opponents and enemies of the Islamic Republic and the greatness of the movement of the Iranian nation. He added: "Establishing an Islamic government in Iran and resistance against the most bullying governments in the world presented a new path based on genuine Islam, and this is not tolerable to the camp of arrogance and oppression. And this issue is the main reason behind the opposition to the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Ayatollah Khamenei reminded the audience of the great achievements of the Iranian nation in different arenas and stressed: "Thanks to its success in divine tests, this nation has managed to make spiritual and material progress. Scientific and technological advances and rendering services across the country are examples of our material progress."
His Eminence referred to the role of divine assistance and blessings in all these achievements and reiterated: "The Iranian nation has seen and felt God's hand of power in different arenas."
Ayatollah Khamenei said the failure of last year's post-election fitna was an example of divine blessings and added: "By Allah's grace, the people were awakened, and they stepped in and managed to foil a big plot."
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "The dimensions of last year's fitna have not yet been fully discovered, and there are many areas for analysis. This was because the enemy had done accurate planning and calculations."
His Eminence said that the masterminds of the fitna of the year 1388 were foreign agents. "Those who people refer to as leaders of fitna were in fact manipulated by the masterminds. The enemy had pushed them to the forefront. Of course they should have distanced themselves from the enemy, but they failed to do so and committed a sin."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added that people should avoid being manipulated by the enemy and that they should change their path as soon as they realize they are treading the wrong path due to lack of vigilance.
Ayatollah Khamenei explained the dimensions of last year's fitna and reiterated that the main elements were people who had designed plots to overthrow the government and eliminate the Islamic Republic.
His Eminence added: "The main plot of the enemy was to eliminate the Islamic Republic and the essence and slogan of religion from the Iranian society."
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "The real leaders had designed a second plan to create turmoil in the country in case their first plan failed. The plan was to imitate the Islamic Revolution and achieve their goals by creating a caricature of the Islamic Revolution."
He added: "But through appropriate analysis of the situation, sense of responsibility, and timely presence on the scene, the Iranian nation gave the plotters a punch in the mouth and put an end to their plans."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the success of the Iranian nation in that great and complex test prepared the ground for increasing power of the Islamic Republic on a daily basis and highlighting the path of religion and the Revolution in the country. "Daily increase in our power is in fact a divine reward for the success in this test."
Ayatollah Khamenei called on all Iranian people and government officials to preserve their vigilance and distinguish between primary and secondary issues. He added: "Lack of insight and failure in divine tests will lead to the decline and degeneration of society - just as the failure of the people in divine tests during the time of the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) led to his martyrdom in the mihrab during worship, as well as the martyrdom of the Master of the Martyrs (a.s.) and his companions in Karbala."
His Eminence said that the high position of the Iranian nation, its domestic and international achievements and its significant role in important regional and global issues are the result of its success in different divine tests. He reiterated: "The enemy is making many efforts to prevent the Islamic Republic from treading the path of progress through economic pressures, intensive false propaganda and promoting fear of the Islamic Republic of Iran among other governments and peoples."
The Leader of the Islamic Republic referred to the failure of America policies in Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq, further adding: "The Americans say that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the main reason behind their failures, but their failures are due to the awakening of peoples of the world and their appropriate policies."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed: "The influence and power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and among peoples of the world is spiritual in nature. This is because the Islamic Republic awakens peoples. America made every effort to prevent the current Iraqi government from coming to power, but this government came to power due to the vigilance of the Iraqi people, and America was unable to do anything to stop it."
His Eminence reiterated: "The Iranian nation will continue its path of progress and power until it achieves the peaks of immaculate life in this world and in the hereafter."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the people and government officials are firmly determined to tread this path and reiterated: "Vigilance and avoidance of underestimating the enemy are the requirements for successful continuation of the path of progress and power."
He added: "All our people, especially our youth, clergy, academics and government officials, should preserve and increase their vigilance."
At the end of his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that vigilance of the government officials, their efforts to render services to the people and their determination to preserve their unity will be a thorn in the enemy's side.
