Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this morning with members of Construction Basij. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the youthful energy, enthusiasm, hope and faith of the members of Construction Basij are a source of pride for Iran and its history.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that western youth are trapped in depression, despair, illusions and aimlessness. "The faithful, valuable, active and committed youth who have received the blessing and capability of rendering services from God should appreciate their dynamic spirit and their appropriate orientation. And the government officials and managers of the country should appreciate this inexhaustible treasure and this great movement."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the strong faith, enthusiasm and deep insight of the youth and their love for Imam Khomeini (r.a.) is a clear sign which shows the Revolution is continuing its life in a dynamic fashion. He added that some people claim that the Revolution has reached its end and that Imam Khomeini (r.a.) has been consigned to oblivion, further stating: "These people, who were not necessarily opposed to the Revolution in the beginning, gave in to the attraction of material and personal goals. They gave in to the lure of power, and this serious flaw made them hollow from within. Therefore, they think that the Revolution is over, but this claim is just an illusion."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated that the Iranian nation will continue its dynamic movement without paying attention to the people who give up.
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Iranian nation is going through a dangerous historical stage and reiterated: "In the past 30 years, we went through many dangerous phases of this fateful era, but we are not yet through this stage, and the nation and government officials are continuing their movement in a careful, wise and unified fashion."
His Eminence said that the Iranian nation is the standard-bearer of the freedom and the prosperity of the Islamic Ummah. Referring to the opposition of the camp of global despotic and domineering powers against the Iranian people during the past thirty years, he reiterated: "The enemies pretend that they are opposed to Iran. But in reality, they have targeted Islam and the Holy Quran because they have realized that Islam, morality, and the Holy Quran are the driving forces behind the progress, stability, and grandeur of the Iranian nation."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the determination, vigilance, and capabilities of the Iranian nation have increased compared to the early years of the Revolution and reiterated that the Iranian nation is the front-runner of the opposition of the Islamic Ummah against global domineering powers.
He further added that the Iranian nation has accelerated and increased the power of its movement and will continue to make progress by relying on the power of the Revolution.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the decisive presence of the Iranian youth in scientific and technological arenas and said that the youth who were not present during the victory of the Revolution, the era of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and the Sacred Defense are now in the vanguard of the movement of the Iranian people in different fields. "Besides being active in the arena of construction, the youth of the country have turned the political arena into the arena of vigilance, determination, and enthusiasm through their presence in the elections and creating great epics on the 9th of Dey and 22nd of Bahman," he noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that this is a reality which is indicative of the failure of the enemies to undermine the revolutionary spirit of the people and obliterate the memory of Imam Khomeini.
He added: "Those who, at the beginning of the Revolution, used to talk about its downfall within 3 days, one week, or at most two months do not make such worthless claims any longer. And this is indicative of their weakness and the power of the Iranian nation."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the comprehensive military, financial, political, and propaganda support which was given to Saddam Hussein by the superpowers during the 8 years of the Iraqi imposed war and added: "Saddam Hussein - whom global bullying powers had charged with opposing Imam Khomeini (r.a.), the Revolution and the Iranian nation - suffered a disgraceful and humiliating death. But the Iranian nation and the Revolution continue to exist and are more powerful than ever before. This is an experience which can be repeated."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the destiny of Saddam Hussein awaits the current and future enemies of Iran and reiterated that the movement of the Iranian nation will become more dynamic on a daily basis.
