On the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s.), Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with a group of people from Bushehr province.
Speaking during the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to Imam Ali's (a.s.) character as unique and said that he was the peak of scientific, moral, ethical, human, and divine magnificence.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that promoting insight among people, clarifying the issues, and deepening the faith and thoughts of those who are in need of insight are the most important lessons the Muslim world can learn from the life of that great Imam.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the birthday anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s.) as a great Eid and said that learning lessons from the life of Imam Ali (a.s.) and following his path are the greatest gifts one can receive on this day.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that promoting insight among people who were in need of insight was the most important characteristic of Imam Ali (a.s.) and reiterated: "Today enlightening the people and promoting insight among them is one of the main needs of society and the Muslim world because the enemies are making use of such tools as religion and ethics in order to counter Islam. And everyone has to be vigilant in this regard."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution further added that the enemies speak of human rights and democracy when they intend to mislead public opinion in non-Muslim countries. "However, when faced with Muslim public opinion, they speak of Islam and the Holy Quran. This is while they do not believe in Islam, the Holy Quran, and human rights at all."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the feeling of confusion that is caused during fitna and said that even some elites make mistakes in such circumstances. "Therefore, it is necessary to have standards during fitna. And the standard is the type of justice and clear evidence which Imam Ali (a.s.) used to refer the people to. And this is what we need today too."
His Eminence further stated: "Managing the Islamic society on the basis of Quranic principles, taking serious measures against dissident enemies, specifying clear boundaries with the enemies, and being vigilant against the enemies' plots are the standards and the path which were specified by Imam Ali (a.s.)."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the Iranian nation is vigilant thanks to the Islamic Revolution and said that many of the country's problems have been solved thanks to such vigilance.
He added: "In many cases the people realize the realities better than some elites do. This is because they have less attachment to material things than some elites, which is a great blessing."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Iranian nation has proved that it is steadfast in pursuing its lofty Islamic ideals and added that the Iranian nation will, by Allah's favor, maintain such steadfastness.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the great achievements made by the Iranian nation and the actualization of the slogans of the Islamic Republic happened due to the capabilities and insight of the Iranian people. He further added that the Iranian people, particularly the Iranian youth, are vigilant and stated that the future belongs to the Iranian nation.
His Eminence reiterated that the Iranian youth will, by Allah's favor, witness the day when global bullying powers feel that they can no longer bully the Iranian nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The time has passed when domineering powers could freely threaten and humiliate other nations. And currently the Iranian nation is recognized as a powerful nation in the world."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the arrogant powers, particularly the US, are being increasingly disgraced in the world thanks to the resistance of other nations and the emergence of national powers.
He further stated that being powerful in the true sense of the word is a right of the Iranian nation and no power can stop the Iranian nation from pursuing the path it has chosen.
