Leader Attends Graduation Ceremony at Imam Hussein (a.s.) Military Academy

On the occasion of the liberation anniversary of Khorramshahr, Ayatollah Khamenei the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces participated today in the graduation ceremony of a group of cadets at Imam Hussein (a.s.) Military Academy. At the beginning of this ceremony, the Leader paid homage to the martyrs of the Sacred Defense Era. Afterwards, he reviewed the units present on the parade ground.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the liberation of Khorramshahr was an unforgettable day in the history of the country. He further stressed that the spirit of religious faith and self-confidence were the main factors behind the event.

The Leader of the Islamic Republic added: "As Imam Khomeini (r.a.) said, Khorramshahr was liberated by God. This was the wisest and the most accurate comment made in this regard. This is because during Operation Beitol Moqaddas which led to the liberation of Khorramshahr, the power of Allah the Exalted was manifested in the hearts and willpower of the soldiers of Islam."

Ayatollah Khamenei praised the faith, selflessness, and valor of the soldiers of Islam during Operation Beitol Moqaddas, further reiterating: "During Operation Beitol Moqaddas, which lasted for a month, the amazing signs of selflessness were prevalent among the soldiers, and the liberation of Khorramshahr was the peak of that selflessness."

His Eminence advised the youth to read about the glorious operation and added: "Operation Beitol Moqaddas and the liberation of Khorramshahr were not only a great blow to the Ba'ath Party but also a severe blow to global arrogance - which had deployed its forces behind Saddam Hussein's war machine."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the liberation of Khorramshahr was an arena in which materialistic powers failed to counter religious faith, spirituality, and selflessness. "Those who have deployed their forces against the Iranian nation are the same people who used to support the enemy during the Sacred Defense Era. And just like those days, they do not have the power to confront a nation that relies on faith, determination, and selfless efforts."

Ayatollah Khamenei added: "Through their propaganda, the enemies of the Iranian nation are trying to stand reality on its head. This is while they are the ones who have caused insecurity and committed crimes in many parts of the world, especially in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and the occupied Palestinian lands."

His Eminence further reiterated: "The enemies of the Iranian nation will undoubtedly be defeated, just as they were in 1382."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that unlike other political systems in the world, the Islamic Republic of Iran has a message for the people of the world. "Values, humanity, and saving the peoples of the world from the clutches of the domineering powers are the message of the Islamic Republic, and today the people of the world are thirsty for this message," he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that this message is the main reason why the global powers are opposed to the Iranian nation, further reiterating: "This opposition has continued for 31 years in different forms, including military attacks, political aggression, economic sanctions, and various types of threats. But the resistance of the Iranian nation has caused the Islamic Republic to grow stronger on a daily basis."

His Eminence described the enemies' efforts against the Islamic Republic as absolutely desperate and added: "Today the calculations of the enemy are wrong because the resistance and spiritual power of the Iranian people, especially the faithful and determined youth of the country, have awakened other nations and filled them with hope."

Ayatollah Khamenei advised the cadets of Imam Hussein (a.s.) Military Academy as well as other scientific centers of the Iranian Armed Forces to make the best of their opportunities and youthful talents. He reiterated: "Appropriate and optimal use of these opportunities is the best way to express one's gratitude."
