Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this afternoon with Robert Mugabe the President of Zimbabwe and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, His Eminence described relations between the Islamic Republic and Zimbabwe as strong, friendly, and deep-rooted, further adding: "The two countries enjoy great capacities for expanding bilateral relations and the Islamic Republic is always ready to support Zimbabwe."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the G15 should play an active role and added that independent countries and nations should increase their cooperation.
He further stated that the policy of interference adopted by the superpowers is a great problem for humanity and added that increasing cooperation among independent countries is the only way to counter this policy.
Ayatollah Khamenei praised the resistance of President Mugabe against Britain interferences and said that the US and other superpowers will not be able to achieve their goals if independent countries cooperate with one another and act in a unanimous manner.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the pressure mounted on the Islamic Republic and the obstacles posed by the superpowers for the Islamic Republic during the past thirty years and reiterated: "The superpowers will continue failing to achieve their goals in the Islamic Republic."
In this meeting which was also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Mr. Mugabe expressed his delight at meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei and said that relations between the Islamic Republic and Zimbabwe are deep-rooted.
He said that the G15 was basically established to act as an active arm of the Non-Aligned Movement. He added that the G15 should be able to play an active role in South-South Cooperation.
President Mugabe further referred to the interference of some western countries which is aimed at preventing the progress of and cooperation among independent countries and stated that his country is determined to expand its ties with the Islamic Republic. He further added that his country believes that independent countries should maintain and strengthen their cooperation and unity.
