Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with the participants of the D-8 Ministerial Summit in Tehran. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the common cultural and religious grounds among the D-8 countries and added that these countries enjoy highly strategic positions as well as great energy resources.
He further added: "Cooperation among the eight countries can serve as a model for all Muslim countries, and the continuation of industrial cooperation will undoubtedly have positive effects on the world of Islam as well as the member countries."
His Eminence stated that Iran has supported cooperation among Islamic countries since the establishment of the D-8 and added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its scientific and industrial achievements with Muslim countries."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the domineering powers use knowledge and industry to dominate other countries. He further added that Islamic countries should try to achieve an appropriate position through mutual cooperation and using their manpower and natural resources.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the need for implementing the agreements signed in the Tehran summit and added: "The eight member countries should feel duty bound to carry out these agreements. And they should move towards increasing cooperation and industrial progress through religious faith and reliance on
God."
