Imam Khamenei sends message thanking national, female “Muay Thai” silver medalist in the Islamic Solidarity Games:
My daughter, your resolve, effort, faith, and self-confidence are even more valuable than a gold medal.
Ms. Fereshteh Hassanzadeh, a member of Iran’s national, women’s Muay Thai team, was successful in winning a silver medal in the Islamic Solidarity Games. After the final match of these games, she told a reporter who was present there, “I had hoped to win the gold medal so that I could dedicate it to Imam Khamenei. I’m hopeful he will accept my silver medal.”
After receiving this athlete’s message, Imam Khamenei recently wrote the following to her, “Please send my greetings and express my gratitude to her, and tell her, ‘My daughter, your resolve, effort, faith, and self-confidence are even more valuable than a gold medal.’”
