In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
This meeting is being held to honor the dear families of the martyrs and to offer our condolences to all those bereaved in the events that took place in the recent Imposed War. I deemed it necessary to offer my condolences to all the loved ones of those who’ve departed from among us — our military commanders, our scientists, and our beloved citizens who were martyred in this tragic event. I offer my condolences to all the loved ones of the martyrs, especially their fathers, mothers, spouses, and children. May Almighty God reward them, and may their honor be of the highest human, divine, Islamic honors.
What happened for the Islamic Republic during these 12 days — in addition to the great honors achieved by the Iranian nation, which even people throughout the world are acknowledging today — was that the Islamic Republic and the noble people of Iran showed their power, their determination and resolve, their steadfastness, and their ability to the world. If people had previously heard things from afar, they now saw the power of the Islamic Republic from up close. In addition to all this, the important point is that the Islamic Republic showed the unparalleled stability of the foundations of its system and its country to the world.
These events weren’t something that hadn’t been experienced by the Islamic Republic before. Since the beginning of the Revolution, such events have taken place for the country on many occasions. In addition to the 8-year Imposed War, there have been seditions, inciting weak-willed individuals against the nation, various military, political, security-related plots, as well as coups and other similar actions. The Islamic Republic has overcome all of these. For more than 45 years, the Islamic Republic has been able to thwart all of the enemy's schemes by enduring many hardships in the process. It has succeeded in overcoming all its enemies in these areas.
What’s important is that we pay attention to the fact that Islamic Iran was founded and built upon the bases of religion and knowledge. In the foundation of the Islamic Republic, the two elements of religion and knowledge are the most essential founding components. It’s for this very reason that the people’s religiosity and the knowledge of our youth have been able to force the enemy to retreat in many different fields, and this will continue to be the same in the future.
What Global Arrogance, led by the criminal US, truly opposes is your religiosity and knowledge. They’re opposed to your religiosity. They’re opposed to the widespread faith of the people. They oppose the unity that exists under the banner of Islam and the Quran, and they’re opposed to your knowledge. The fact that Iran’s population has doubled since the victory of the Revolution, but the number of university students has multiplied severalfold — perhaps tenfold or even more — this is what bothers them. The fact that the Islamic Republic is able to produce new ideas in the various fields of science and knowledge — be it in the humanities, technical sciences, or religious sciences — this is what upsets them. This is what they oppose. All their talk about nuclear issues, [uranium] enrichment, human rights, and such things are nothing but excuses. The main problem is I what I’ve mentioned.
By God’s grace, the Iranian nation will not abandon its religiosity or its knowledge. We will make great strides forward in strengthening our religious faith and in expanding and deepening our diverse, wide-ranging fields of knowledge. And by God's grace and much to the enemy’s dismay, we will succeed in elevating Iran to the peak of progress and to the pinnacle of honor. The Iranian nation possesses this capability, and, God willing and by God’s grace, it will make use of this capability and obtain the desired results.
May God’s greetings, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
