Imam Hussain (pbuh) said, "Far be it from us to accept humiliation" (Hayhāt minnā al-dhillah). Imam Hussain's movement was a movement of honor. It was about the honor of truth, the honor of religion, the honor of Imamate, and the honor of the path that the Prophet (pbuh) had shown to people. Imam Hussain (pbuh) was the embodiment of honor, and because he stood firmly, he was also a source of pride and glory.

A believer must never accept submitting to disbelievers
You see, Imam Hussain (pbuh) said, “Far be it from us to accept humiliation.” (Hayhāt minnā al-dhillah, abā Allāh dhālik). God forbids us from accepting humiliation. A believer doesn’t have the right to accept the humiliation of submitting to disbelievers or yielding to the pressure and imposition of disbelievers.

Throughout history, anyone who has made the logic of Imam Hussain (pbuh) the cornerstone of their actions has undoubtedly achieved victory. The logic of Hussain (pbuh) means not fearing death, choosing truth over falsehood at any cost, not underestimating those who support the truth, and not overestimating the supporters of falsehood, regardless of their numbers. The logic of Hussain (pbuh) means having endless hope, even at times when dreams seem to fade.

The deep spiritual dimension of it [Imam Hussain’s uprising] informs and enlightens those who possess intellect and insight. Over the years, I have repeatedly spoken about this sentence from the Commander of the Faithful [Imam Ali (pbuh)], "Indeed, this flag can only be carried by those who possess insight and patience." This flag – the flag of humanity, Islam, and monotheism – can only be raised and held high by those who possess these two qualities: insight and steadfastness. Imam Hussain (pbuh) is the embodiment of insight and steadfastness.

At the core of Imam Hussain’s (pbuh) mission was upholding the truth and the path of righteousness, in addition to remaining steadfast in the face of all the powers that had joined forces against him. Everything Imam Hussain (pbuh) said – in Medina, Mecca, Karbala, and on the journey in between – along with everything that Lady Zainab (pbuh) and Imam Sajjad (pbuh) said after his martyrdom, all reflect this message. This is the great lesson from Hussain ibn Ali (pbuh).

Years before the Revolution, the late Martyr Motahari cried out, "By God, know that today’s Shimr" – and he named the Prime Minister of Israel at that time – "is him." We curse Shimr to completely eliminate anyone being like Shimr and behaving like Shimr in the world, and in order to stand against the rule of tyrants, the rule of regimes like that of Yazid’s, the rule of indulgence and luxury, and the rule of regimes that oppress believers throughout the world.

If you are steadfast, you will be able to reach the peak
You must move with determination. You must make the decision to move. … If you are steadfast, you will be able to reach the peak. You will reach the peak of the sovereignty of God's religion, the sovereignty of truth, and the sovereignty of justice. You will reach the peak of [realizing] the goal and purpose of human beings’ creation, which is human growth and human perfection. … Try to be steadfast on this path. "So be steadfast, just as you have been commanded – [you] and whoever has turned [to Allah] with you" (Quran 11:112). It’s vital to be steadfast and persistent. You are capable of doing this, and God willing, you will be able to do this due to the blessings that you gain when you turn to and take recourse in Hussain ibn Ali (pbuh).
