Brigadier General Sayyid Majid Mousavi appointed Commander of IRGC Aerospace Force

Following the martyrdom of Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Armed Forces, Imam Khamenei, has issued a decree appointing Brigadier General Sayyid Majid Mousavi as Commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Force.

The text of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution's decree is as follows:

In the Name of the Compassionate, the Merciful

To Brigadier General Sayyid Majid Mousavi,
In light of the glorious, honorable martyrdom of Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh at the hands of the evil Zionist regime, based on the recommendation of the Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, and due to your valuable qualifications and expertise, I hereby appoint you Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force.

That which is expected is a comprehensive advancement in capabilities and an increase in preparedness in the sectors of missiles and drones, which will lay the groundwork for a powerful presence in space. In addition, work to reinforce the piety and insight of your personnel as well as their spiritual strength in your quest toward building a Force that is in line with the standards of the Islamic Revolution.

On the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, I ask God to grant Martyr Hajizadeh the highest [spiritual] rank and to place him alongside those closest to Him, especially alongside the Master of the Monotheists, the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (pbuh). I also find it necessary to express my appreciation and gratitude for the valuable groundwork carried out by Martyr Hajizadeh during the time he was serving as a commander. I ask Almighty God to grant continued success to everyone.

Sayyid Ali Khamenei
