During the meeting, he congratulated the Islamic Ummah and the Iranian nation on the blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr, describing it as a unifying factor in the Islamic world that contributes to the ever-growing dignity of Islam and its noble Prophet. He stated that achieving this increasing Islamic dignity requires unity, determination, and insight within the Islamic Ummah.
Referring to the fast pace of global developments, Imam Khamenei said that in response to these swift events, Islamic governments must quickly and accurately determine their position and devise plans accordingly.
The Leader of the Revolution highlighted the large Muslim population, abundant natural wealth, and strategic geographical position of the Islamic world as significant opportunities.
In this regard, he emphasized that making use of these opportunities and crucial positions depends on the unity of the Islamic world. “Unity, however, does not mean the merging of governments or complete alignment in all political tendencies; rather, it means recognizing shared interests and defining them in a way that does not lead to discord, conflict, or disputes among one another.”
Imam Khamenei stressed that the entire Islamic world is a family and that Islamic governments should think and act with this perspective, adding, “The Islamic Republic has extended its hand to all Islamic governments and considers itself brothers with them and on a general and fundamental front.”
The Leader further stated that cooperation and mutual understanding among Islamic governments act as a barrier against aggression, bullying, and being blackmailed by oppressive and expansionist powers. “Unfortunately, blackmailing weak governments and nations have become a common and overt practice of major powers. In response, we, the Islamic countries, must defend the rights of the Islamic world and not allow America or others to engage in such activities,” he asserted.
Referring to the suffering of Palestine and Lebanon due to the crimes of the Zionist regime and its supporters, he highlighted the need for the Islamic world to stand firm against these hardships. He went on to say that with unity, solidarity, and shared understanding among Islamic governments, others will be compelled to reconsider their actions. He expressed hope that the leaders of Islamic countries, through their determination, motivation, and efforts, would be able to truly establish the Islamic Ummah.
