There's no difference between US presidents

Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei, met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

During the meeting, Imam Khamenei underscored that expanding relations with neighboring countries is a definitive policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He noted, "One of the announced policies of Mr. Pezeshkian's administration is also the expansion of relations with neighboring countries. Praise God, notable progress has been made in this area, and some good things have been accomplished." Additionally, he commended Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi for his active and dynamic role in promoting Iran's diplomatic relations within the region.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed hope that the agreements reached in Tehran would be beneficial for both countries and that both sides would be able to fulfill their neighboring duties more than ever before.

During the meeting, Imam Khamenei also referred to the statements of the Emir of Qatar regarding regional issues. " We consider Qatar as our friend & brother, although there are unresolved issues between us, such as the return of Iranian assets, which have been transferred from South Korea to Qatar. We're aware that the primary barrier to carrying out this transfer is the US," he stated.

He emphasized: " If we were in Qatar's place, we wouldn't pay attention to the pressures brought by the US and would return Iran's assets. We continue to expect Qatar to do this."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution further noted, "There's no difference between US presidents."

During the meeting, which was also attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Emir of Qatar, expressed his satisfaction in meeting with Imam Khamenei and commended the Islamic Republic’s stance in supporting oppressed people globally, particularly the people of Palestine. He addressed the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stating, "Your steadfastness alongside the Palestinian people will never be forgotten."

The Emir of Qatar highlighted the special and difficult conditions in the region, emphasizing the need for greater cooperation among the countries in the area.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani also pointed to the agreements between Iran and Qatar, including the construction of an underwater tunnel between the two countries. He noted that, as part of this agreement, a joint commission will soon be activated, paving the way for increased economic exchanges in the near future.
