Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the June 12 presidential election as a divine miracle. Speaking on the auspicious occasion of Fatima Zahra's birth anniversary, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the unprecedented voter turnout in the presidential poll and reiterated: "In this great event, the vigilant and clear-sighted people of Iran showed that they are still interested in the path and principles of Imam Khomeini and that they still seek to achieve progress and prosperity by treading his path."
His Eminence added: "Through its enthusiastic participation in this election, the Iranian nation proved that it values national grandeur. It proved that resisting against bullying and greedy powers and claiming its rights are an Islamic value and an honor for the Iranian people."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution touched upon the efforts of foreign media to discourage voter turnout in the presidential election through their psychological warfare and negative propaganda, further adding that the huge turnout was a new record in the post-Revolution era.
