The following is the full text of the speech delivered by Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, after he cast his vote in the Parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections on March 1, 2024

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

I ask Almighty God to bless the Iranian nation with a blessed day today, and God willing, may the hard work of our people and those involved in the various parts of the election process result in positive outcomes that will benefit the Iranian nation. I will give two recommendations first, and then I will respond to the honorable reporters’ questions.

My first word of advice is that the Quran has commanded us to strive to “take the lead in good deeds” (Quran 2:148). Compete in good deeds and surpass others. I mentioned this in the last elections, and I want to also emphasize this today that you should take advantage of this opportunity as early as possible and cast your vote at the polls at the earliest possible time.

My second recommendation is to make sure you vote for the full number of candidates needed for your area, not less. For example, in Tehran for the Assembly of Experts, we need to vote for all 16 individuals, not less. Also in Tehran, we should vote for all 30 individuals for the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament). Do not vote for a fewer number of candidates. I strongly recommend that you follow this advice.

Our dear nation should understand that today many people around the world, including people in general, politicians, and holders of important national and political positions, are watching Iran. Their eyes are on you.  Both our friends and those who are in favor of the Iranian nation as well as the ill-wishers of the Iranian nation want to see what you will do in these elections and what will be the outcome of your elections. From all directions, people are watching the issues in our country and our dear nation. Pay attention to this [and act in a manner that] will make our friends happy and ill-wishers disappointed.

And now I will give my response to his [the interviewer’s] question about what my final words are to those who are hesitant [about voting]. My last words [of advice] are that when it comes to doing good deeds, there should be no hesitation.

May God’s greetings, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
