My Lord, if You deprive me ...
My Lord, if You deprive me (of Your sustenance), who will be able to provide my sustenance? If You forsake me, who will be able to help me?
All my trust is in You
My Lord, it’s as if I see myself standing before You and all my trust is in You. You have done what befitted You and sheltered me with Your forgiveness.
How can I despair
My Lord, how can I despair of Your benevolent attention toward me after my death when You have always been good to me throughout my lifetime?
Concealer of the sins
My Lord, You have concealed my sins in this world, but I am in greater need of their being concealed in the next life.
Gladden my heart
My Lord, gladden my heart by my meeting You on the day when You shall judge between Your servants.
Most Magnanimous of all
My Lord, I submit to You the apology of one who cannot afford for his apology to not be accepted. So, please accept my apology, O the Most Magnanimous of all those before whom the guilty make an apology.
You are the One Who keeps me safe
My Lord, had You wanted to humiliate me, You would not have guided me (to You). Had You decided to disgrace me, You would not have kept me safe and sound.
The Generous
My Lord, how could I return from You disappointed and deprived for indeed my good opinion about Your generosity was that You will send me on as one who has been saved and forgiven.
You are near
O You Who are near and are not far from those who love Him ardently. O You Who are magnanimous and do not deprive the one who hopes for Your reward!
My Lord, grant me a correct outlook
My Lord, please grant me a heart the enthusiasm of which will draw it close to You, a tongue whose truthfulness is elevated toward You, and a correct outlook which brings it close to You.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
My Lord, certainly he/she who is known by way of You is not unknown. He/she who seeks shelter with You shall never be debased. And he/she to whom You turn will not fall victim to being a slave [of others].
I have taken refuge in You
My Lord, the path is bright for he/she who seeks the path to You, and he/she who takes refuge in You will find refuge. Indeed I have taken refuge in You, My Lord! So, (please) do not disappoint me in my hope in Your mercy, and do not withhold Your kindness from me.
My Lord, inspire me toward Yourself
My Lord, please keep inspiring me with a passion for remembering You, and may my efforts be aimed at moving toward Your attributes and Your holy station.
My Lord, I am weak or You are just enough to forgive us our sins
My Lord, I am Your weak, sinful servant and also Your repentant servant. So, please do not include me amongst those from whom You have turned away Your face and those who are excluded from Your pardon because of their neglect.
Grant me severance from anything but You
My Lord, grant me complete severance from anything but You. Illuminate the eyes of our hearts by way of the light from their looking toward You, until the eyes of our hearts penetrate the veils of light to reach the source of magnificence, and our souls become suspended in the glory of Your Holiness.
Guide me, my Lord
My Lord, I ask You, pray to You beseechingly, and have hope in You. I ask You to bless Muhammad (pbuh) and his pure Progeny. And include me with those who always remember You, those who never break the pledge they have made to You, those who do not neglect to be thankful to You, and those who never take Your commands lightly.
Submerge me in Your light
My Lord, please submerge me in the most beautiful light of Your majesty so that I may know You, renounce all others besides You, and remain watchful about You.
