Leader’s Message to Union of Islamic Associations

About a quarter century has passed since the establishment of the Union of Islamic Associations of the Indian subcontinent. The union's twenty fifth election was held in India in the presence of Iranian student representatives on February 13 and 14, 2009. Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued a message on this occasion. The following is the full text of this message which was read at the closing ceremony by Hojatoleslam Mohammad Ali Nezamzadeh, the Leader's representative.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Dear students,

As time passes, the Iranian nation feels more and more hopeful about its educated and thriving young generation. The youth of this nation have managed to prove their superiority and prominence in all arenas. In the past, the enemies of our honorable and free country plotted to paralyze its young arms through temptations, creating despair, promoting nihilism and corruption, and many other schemes. They continued this policy after the Islamic Revolution and used advanced communications technologies to further their goals. However, the efforts and sense of responsibility on the part of the revolutionary youth have not allowed the enemies of Iran to achieve their goals. Our scientific, social, and political progress and the spirit of enthusiasm and dynamism among the young generation point to the bright prospects which the Iranian nation deserves.

Dear students, you must prepare the ground for future achievements through reliance on Allah the All-Knowing and proper understanding of the responsibility that lies on the shoulders of all people, especially the youth. You must consider learning, research, and innovation as your duties. When selecting your majors and in all your plans, you must take the current and future needs of your country into account. The future belongs to you. You must try your best and ask Allah the Exalted to help you build the future.

Sayyid Ali Khamenei
