Leader Meets with Khaled Meshaal

Khaled Meshaal, the political leader of Hamas, met on Sunday with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. In this meeting, he presented a comprehensive report on the 22-day war in Gaza, the victory of the Islamic Resistance Movement, and the political developments related to the war in Gaza.

Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated Khaled Meshaal on the victory of Hamas forces over the Zionist army, further reiterating: "The people of Gaza and the Islamic Resistance Movement made us all proud. With their patience and resistance, they emerged victorious out of this severe test."

His Eminence described the victory of the people of Gaza over the Zionist army as a historic event and said that it was the result of faith and jihad. He also expressed his gratitude to Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya for his efforts and resistance. "Thanks to the faith and jihad of the people of Palestine, I hope Allah the Exalted will make this victory the beginning of other victories in the future," he said.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the war in Gaza has not ended yet and that the political and psychological warfare will continue. He added: "The Islamic Resistance Movement must be fully vigilant and prepared for all possibilities, even the possibility of a new war."

Ayatollah Khamenei touched upon the enemies' efforts to achieve politically what they did not achieve during their military invasion and stressed: "This preparedness, jihad, and determination to resist must be maintained in the political arena as well."

His Eminence also stressed the need to start the reconstruction of Gaza as soon as possible. He said that the Islamic Republic is prepared to help in the reconstruction process, and touched upon the enemies' psychological warfare and propaganda, adding: "Standing reality on its head, the enemies pretend that the Islamic Resistance Movement is responsible for the hardships of the people of Gaza. Unfortunately, some of the neighboring Arab countries strengthen this notion."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated that the explicit declaration of the righteous position of Hamas and the Palestinian people is the only way to deal with this psychological warfare. "Hamas and the Islamic resistance forces must demand the Arab media to provide media coverage for this righteous position." His Eminence also stressed the importance of prosecuting the heads of the Zionist regime for their war crimes. "This must be pursued seriously," he said.

In this meeting, Khaled Meshaal, the political leader of Hamas, presented a comprehensive report on the military and political developments of the war in Gaza and its aftermath. He added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has supported the people of Gaza more than any other country. On behalf of the people of Gaza and the Palestinian Resistance Movement, I would like to express my gratitude to you and the great and honorable Iranian nation for your political and psychological support. Undoubtedly, the Islamic Republic of Iran played a fundamental role in the victory of the people of Gaza."

The political leader of Hamas further described the victory of the people of Gaza over the Zionists as a divine miracle and reiterated: "In that extremely hard situation which cannot be described in words, the people of Gaza resisted by relying on Allah. And God bestowed victory on these faithful and resisting people." Khaled Meshaal also expressed hopes that the victory of the people of Gaza will mark the beginning of the complete liberation of Palestine and Quds.

He referred to the failure of the Zionist regime to impose its preconditions for ceasefire and said that they were finally forced to retreat from Gaza and sign a peace settlement with no preconditions. "Now the political battle has begun to lift the siege on Gaza and reopen the borders. In spite of all their pressure and psychological warfare, the Palestinian government and the Islamic Resistance Movement will not accept any of the preconditions set by the Zionists, such as adherence to the 2005 agreement regarding the Rafah crossing and permanent ceasefire in the region."

Khaled Meshaal said that reconstructing Gaza is one of the priorities of the Palestinian government and added: "The US and the Zionist regime seek to cause despair and discontent among the people of Gaza by thwarting the process of reconstruction. However, we will begin the reconstruction of Gaza by any possible means, and we will not let them achieve their goals."

The political leader of Hamas also expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its efforts to arrange an international meeting on reconstructing Gaza and stressed: "Jihad and resistance against the Zionists are the strategic goals of the Islamic Resistance Movement and other Palestinian groups, and they will not give up their goals even for a single moment."
