During the meeting, the head of the Supreme Leader’s Representation in Universities, Hujjatul-Islam Mustafa Rostami, gave a speech to explain the secret behind the permanence of the Karbala tragedy. He also clarified the duties of Imam Hussain’s followers in the present age.
At the end of this ceremony, noon and afternoon congregational prayers were held under the leadership of Imam Khamenei.
In a short speech between the two prayers, Imam Khamenei described the ceremonies and invocations of Imam Hussain (pbuh) as a ground for connecting and communicating with the everlasting spiritual light of Imam Hussain which solves problems. He underlined that, “The most important thing is to maintain this connection and communication with the straight path, which requires determination and steadfastness. If you remain steadfast, you will conquer the peak, which includes the sovereignty of God's religion, the sovereignty of truth and the sovereignty of justice.”
Emphasizing that the youth are a source of hope, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed to the glorious presence of the people, especially the youth, in the Arbaeen Walk from Najaf to Karbala and also in other cities around the country.
“Just as you walked with strength in these Walks, be strong and determined as you move on the path of the sovereignty of tawhid [monotheism]. Always live like [Imam] Hussain and remain like [Imam] Hussain,” underlined the Leader as he addressed the students.
