  • Can negotiations with U.S. solve Iran's problems? Ayatollah Khamenei answers

Can negotiations with U.S. solve Iran's problems? Ayatollah Khamenei answers

    Jul 24, 2017

They say that if we get along with America, the problems of the country will be solved. Well, we can give tens of reasons why this notion is wrong.

  • The myth of nuclear weapons

    Apr 19, 2015

Now, the Americans - followed by the Europeans and some other sycophants - have created the myth of nuclear weapons in order to claim that the Islamic Republic is a source of threat. But the source of threat is America itself. Today, the greatest source of threat in the world is the regime of America.

  • Reason is telling us not to pursue nuclear weapons

    Apr 9, 2015

Enrichment and the other achievements that have been made in the nuclear area are a very important accomplishment. It is not a minor achievement. And these are only our initial steps in this industry. This industry should be worked on so that it makes progress. Now a few criminal countries which have either used nuclear bombs against other nations or tested them - such as America and France - are telling us what to do. Ten, twelve years ago, France conducted three nuclear tests - in a row - in the ocean. These tests are destructive and they destroy the marine environment. They conducted three dangerous tests. And there was little criticism over this matter in the world and later on, they shut mouths and it was over. This is while we are not after nuclear tests. We are not after nuclear weapons. And this is not because they are telling us not to pursue these things. Rather, we do not want these things for the sake of ourselves and our religion and because reason is telling us not to do so. Both shar'i and aqli [related to logic and reason] fatwas dictate that we do not pursue them. Our aqli fatwa is that we do not need a nuclear weapon either in the present time or in the future. A nuclear weapon is a source of trouble for a country like ours - I do not want to expand on this matter. So, nuclear achievements are very important and pursuing this industry and industrializing the country is a very important task. This should receive attention.

  • The allegory of stinky oil

    Apr 9, 2015

The last point on this matter is about my demands. I have a number of demands which I made to officials and I insist on them. One is that officials should know our current nuclear achievements are very valuable. They should know this. They should not look at them as things of little value. They are very valuable. The nuclear industry is a necessity for any country. If some so-called intellectuals pick up their pens and write, "What do we need the nuclear industry for?" this is deception. This looks likes the things which used to be said during the time of Qajar dynasty. When oil was just discovered and the English had come to take it, Qajar officials said, "What do we want this smelly and stinking substance for? Let them take it". The statements that these so-called intellectuals say are like this. The nuclear industry is a necessity for any country. It is necessary for supplying energy, for preparing drugs, for turning seawater into drinking water and for fulfilling many other needs in the area of agriculture and other areas. The nuclear industry is an advanced industry in the world. It is an important industry.

  • An American trick

    Mar 21, 2015

They say, "We will sign an agreement first. Then, we look at their behavior and lift sanctions if they adhere to it". This is an American trick. We do not agree with this. As our officials and honorable President explicitly said, lifting sanctions should be done without any delay and during the reaching of an agreement. Lifting sanctions is one of the terms of the agreement, not a result of it

  • Iranians are not against negotiations but against the bullying

    Mar 21, 2015

Unfortunately in the Norouz message that the American president delivered, there were dishonest statements. Despite the fact that they claim to be the friends of the people of Iran, we can clearly see that these statements are not honest. One of the statements that he made was that there are some people in Iran who do not want the nuclear issue to be resolved in a diplomatic way. This is what he said. He said that there are some people in Iran who do not want the nuclear issue to be resolved through diplomacy. This is a lie. There is no one in Iran who does not want the nuclear issue to be resolved through negotiations. What the people of Iran do not want is to accept America's imposition and bullying. This is what they do not want. What the people of Iran resist is accepting the other side's bullying. The other side says that we should negotiate with it and accept whatever it says. This is what it says. The people of Iran have stood up against this bullying. Neither our officials, nor our negotiating team, nor the people of Iran - who have stood behind them - will accept this.

  • U.S. in dire need of the nuclear negotiations with Iran

    Mar 21, 2015

I would like to say a few things about nuclear issues. First, our enemies - who form the opposite front against the people of Iran and who are mostly American - are moving forward with acumen and by formulating clever policies. We are completely aware of this. They know what they are doing. They need the nuclear negotiations. America needs the nuclear negotiations. The differences that exist among the Americans - between senators and executive officials - does not mean that they do not need the negotiations. This is not the case. The opposite side to the U.S. administration does not like the benefits that exist in these negotiations to be registered in the name of its rival - the Democratic Party. They are after this. So, they need these negotiations and they consider it to be absolutely necessary although they claim that they do not need it.

  • U.S. knows Iran doesn't seek building nukes

    Mar 21, 2015

There is another point. The Americans keep repeating that Iran should not be able to renege on the decisions that it makes and the terms that it agrees with. We do not agree with this either. If the other side wants to re-impose sanctions with any excuse, there is no reason that our negotiating team goes along with this and does something that they cannot cancel and revoke. We do not agree with this at all. Nuclear energy is a popular and domestic industry. It belongs to the people. Its science and technology belong to the people and they should move forward in it. Progress is the essence of any industry and technology. They bring up the issue of a nuclear bomb. They themselves know that we are not after building a nuclear weapon, but they have used it as an excuse to exert pressures on the people of Iran. During the nuclear negotiations, we have fulfilled all international commitments. We have been committed to political-Islamic ethics in these negotiations and we did not break our promises. We did not act in a hypocritical way. The Americans form the opposite camp against us. It is they who went back on their promises and acted in a hypocritical and deceitful way. Their behavior is a lesson for our people. It will be good for those intellectuals in the country who still do not know who the other side - America - is to take a look at these negotiations and see who they are dealing with. They should see what America is doing at a global level. The threats that they issue are of no use. They threaten to impose more sanctions or to make military moves against Iran. These are threats which do not intimidate the people of Iran. The people of Iran have stood firm and by Allah's favor, they will emerge victorious out of this great test.

  • Nuclear issue is just an excuse

    Feb 18, 2015

I believe that even if we accept what they dictate to us on the nuclear issue, their destructive moves and sanctions will not be stopped and lifted. They will continue to create all sorts of problems for us because they are opposed to the essence of the Revolution.

  • A tool for enemies to make constant excuses

    Feb 8, 2015

We have heard that they say, "Let us agree about general principles for the moment. Later on, we can come to an agreement about details". I do not like this. Our experience about the behavior of the other side gives us the feeling that this will become a tool for them to make constant excuses about details. If they want to make an agreement, they should agree about details and general points in one single session and then they should sign it. If they come to an agreement about general points and then they attend to details on the basis of these general points - which are vague, interpretable and analyzable things - this is not reasonable.

  • Respect and dignity of people to be unconditionally considered

    Feb 8, 2015

I myself agree with that and I am sure that the people of Iran are not opposed to an agreement which preserves their dignity, respect and interests. However, these requirements should undoubtedly be considered. The respect and dignity of the people of Iran and the fundamental issue of the progress of the Iranian nation should be preserved and protected.

  • Enemies' main problem is Iran's progress

    Nov 27, 2014

Now, they have extended the negotiations Everyone - both the other side and those people inside the country who are concerned about this matter and who follow these negotiations - should know that if negotiations fail, we are not the ones who suffer the most loss. Rather, it is the Americans. We are honest with our people. We say to our people what the truth of the issue is and they have already understood what the truth is. With different reasons, we can prove that the real goal of arrogance and the west in the face of Iran is to prevent the people of Iran from achieving growth and power. Their real goal is to prevent the increasing dignity of the people of Iran. The nuclear issue is merely an excuse and of course, there are other excuses as well. The main issue is that the talents of the people of Iran are gradually being revealed, that they are making progress in all dimensions - including political, scientific and social dimensions - and that they are achieving power. This is why they are dissatisfied and unhappy. This is what they want to prevent. And the purpose of sanctions and pressures is this. The purpose of sanctions and economic pressures is to prevent the developing efforts of the people of Iran. This is why they impose sanctions and exert economic pressures. Of course, economic pressures are an important factor. We speak freely with our people, but they do not do so and they do not believe in their people.

  • Nuclear sanctions are based on excuses and fabrication

    Jul 7, 2014

Even if we reach a deal on the nuclear issue, it does not mean that all sanctions will be lifted. There are still other issues to be resolved. This is what we have always said. I have repeatedly said in this meeting and different other meetings that the nuclear issue is an excuse. Even if the nuclear issue did not exist, they would make other excuses. For example, there is the issue of human rights and the issue of women. They fabricate many different issues. Fabricating and making excuses is not a demanding job. Moreover, the propaganda apparatus and empire is in their hands.

  • Enemies want to discourage Iran from resisting

    May 21, 2014

The enmity of our enemies is rooted in the resistance of the Islamic Republic against global arrogance and against the hideous habit of dividing the world into the oppressor and the oppressed. Other issues are excuses. Today, their excuse is the nuclear issue. One day, their excuse is human rights and another day, their excuse is something else. They want to discourage the Islamic Republic from showing resistance against bullies, thugs, blackmailers and global oppressors. Of course, this will not happen.

  • Nuclear issue is a plot to create intl environment against Iran

    Apr 9, 2014

Another plot the camp of arrogance has used against the Islamic Republic is to create an international environment against the Islamic Republic by presenting reasons that have a crass appeal, further stating: "The nuclear issue is an example of this, through which they tried to create an environment against the Islamic Republic and to spread lies. American officials bring up the issue of nuclear weapons whenever they address the nuclear issue. This is while they themselves know that not having nuclear weapons is the definite policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Their goal is to preserve the international environment against Iran with this excuse. This was why there was an agreement with the new plan of the administration for the nuclear issue. The purpose of this agreement was to remove the international environment against Iran, to seize the initiative from the other side and to reveal the truth for public opinion in the world

  • Despite the sanctions we have managed to make progress

    Mar 21, 2014

Well, someone may say, "If sanctions did not exist, you could utilize these capacities in the right way. But you cannot utilize them because of sanctions". This is wrong. This is an inaccurate statement. Despite sanctions, we have managed to make outstanding and lofty achievements in many areas. One example is production of knowledge. Another example is our achievements in the area of industry and technology. We were and still are under sanctions in these areas. In the present time too, the doors of important and up-to-date scientific centers - which work on advanced and modern sciences - are closed to Iranian scientists and students. But we have managed to make progress in the nuclear area and in the area of nanotechnology, stem cells, defense industries, airplanes and missiles- to the despair of the enemy. Why should we not be able to make progress in the area of economy? We - who have made so many achievements on these scenes and in different arenas - can make the economy blossom if we show determination and join hands. We should not pin our hopes on the enemy to see when he lifts sanctions and when he agrees to something. Damn the enemy! We should see what we ourselves can do.

  • The main reason behind the sanctions

    Mar 11, 2014

Sanctions have been there since a long time ago. However, they have turned into an economic war since the winter of the year 1390. They are not called "targeted sanctions" anymore. In fact, this is an all-out war which has been waged against our people. The reason why these sanctions are imposed is not the nuclear issue, human rights and other such issues. They themselves know the reason. We too know why they impose these sanctions. The reason is the desire of the people of Iran for achieving independence. The reason is that the Islamic Republic has new ideas on the basis of Islamic principles. They know that these ideas will be a model for other countries and other Muslim peoples. They know that if the Islamic Republic achieves victory in these arenas, this movement cannot be prevented from growing all over the world. They know that this is an important movement. This is the main issue. One day, their excuse is the nuclear issue and another day, it is the issue of the enrichment. One day, it is human rights and another day, it is other such issues. Sanctions existed against us even before the nuclear issue was brought up and they will continue to exist. Even if the nuclear issue and these negotiations are resolved, you will see that these pressures will continue to exist. We should build up immunity against these pressures and we should strengthen domestic structures. We should strengthen our economy so that the enemy becomes disappointed at influencing this area. When the enemy is disappointed, the people and the officials of the country will feel at ease.

  • If anyone claims to support human rights, American officials should not

    Feb 17, 2014

At the present time, the spokesmen of the American government bring up the issue of human rights, missiles, weapons and other such issues. I wonder why the Americans do not feel ashamed of speaking about human rights. If anyone in the world claims to support human rights, American officials should not make this claim considering all the shameful acts which exist in their performance sheet on the issue of human rights. Perhaps, people throughout the world do not know about 80, 90 acts out of the 100 acts that the Americans have committed on the issue of human rights. Nonetheless, the 10, 20 acts that they are aware of can form a voluminous and gloomy book. Everyone knows about the Guantanamo prison. Everyone saw the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Everyone saw the Blackwater organization. Everyone knows about their attack on wedding caravans in Afghanistan. Everyone saw their support of those well-known terrorists who are proud of being terrorists. Everyone saw that the Americans broke their promises and that they lied. The entire world saw these things. Nevertheless, they continue to speak about human rights and they do not feel ashamed. Such extent of shamelessness in their behavior is really a strange phenomenon

  • Clarification of US enmity is one of the blessings of negotiations

    Jan 9, 2014

One of the blessings of the recent negotiations was that the enmity of the Americans and the officials of the government of the United States of America towards Iran and the Iranians, and towards Islam and Muslims became clear to everyone. Everyone realized this. Whenever they fail to take any action, they say, "We cannot". They are right. They really cannot. They say, "If we could, we would disintegrate the nuclear industry of Iran, but we cannot". Of course, they cannot. Why can they not do this? It is because our people decided to stand on their own feet and show resistance on this issue and on all other issues. They decided to bring their innovation to the arena and they did it. Therefore, the enemy cannot do anything.

  • We do not interfere in the details of the nuclear negotiations

    Nov 20, 2013

I would like to raise a point about the recent contentions over the arena of foreign policies, our nuclear issues, the current negotiations and other such things. First of all, I insist on supporting the officials who are in charge of this. I support all administrations and all officials - whether officials in charge of domestic affairs or officials in charge of foreign affairs - and this is our responsibility. I myself have been an executive official. I have been in the middle of the arena and I felt with all my heart the difficulty of the work. I know that the responsibility of managing the country is difficult. Therefore, these officials need help and I help and support them. This is one part of the issue which is clear. On the other hand, I also insist on establishing the rights of the Iranian nation including the issue of our nuclear rights. We insist that these officials should not even take one step back on the rights of the Iranian nation. Of course, we do not interfere in the details of these negotiations. There are certain red lines and limits in this regard. These limits should be observed. We have said this to officials in charge and it is their responsibility to observe these limits. They should not be afraid of the fuss that the enemies and opponents make. They should show no fear in the face of such fuss and uproar.

  • The economic problems won't be solved if we surrender

    Nov 3, 2013

They want to instill the idea into the minds of the people that if we surrender to the other side on the nuclear issue, all economic, financial and other such problems will be solved. This is one of the methods which they use and one of the lies which they spread. They are promoting this idea. Of course, foreign promoters promote such ideas with very efficient methods. Inside the country too, some people promote the idea that if we back down and surrender to the other side on this issue, all economic and other such problems will be solved. Some of these people do it out of naivety without any bad intention and some people promote this idea intentionally. However, this idea is wrong. Why is it wrong? There are a few reasons why it is wrong. I would like you - including the people who are present in this meeting, our wise, well-informed and highly motivated youth and our university and school students throughout the country - to think about such issues. As I once said, you are the officers of the soft war.

  • Iran won't suffer a loss from ongoing negotiations

    Nov 3, 2013

Today, the condition of the Islamic Republic has dramatically changed compared to its condition in the year 2003. In those days, we used to bargain for two, three centrifuges, but today several thousand centrifuges are working. Our youth, our scientists, our researchers and our officials made great efforts and moved things forward. Therefore, we will not suffer a loss as a result of today's ongoing negotiations. Of course, as I said, I am not optimistic and I do not think that these negotiations will produce the results which the Iranian nation expects. However, it is an experience. This will broaden and strengthen the experience of the Iranian nation. It is alright to hold these negotiations, but it is necessary for the Iranian nation to be vigilant. We strongly support our officials, who are active in the camp of diplomacy, but our people should be vigilant. They should know what is happening so that some mercenary promoters of the enemy and some promoters who receive no rewards and who further the goals of the enemy out of naivety cannot mislead public opinion.

  • Lesson learned from the experience of suspension

    Nov 3, 2013

You should pay attention to the fact that the current negotiations with these six countries - including America - are only about the nuclear issue and nothing else. In the beginning of this year, I said in Holy Mashhad that there is nothing wrong with negotiations on particular issues. But I said that I do not trust these negotiations and I am not optimistic about them. However, if they want to negotiate, they can do it and, by Allah's favor, we will not suffer a loss in these negotiations. The Iranian nation benefits from a certain experience which I will refer to in brief. This experience will increase the intellectual capability of our nation, like the experience that we gained in the year 2003 and 2004 in the area of suspending our enrichment activities. At that time, during negotiations with the Europeans, the Islamic Republic agreed to suspend its enrichment activities for a while. But this turned out to be to our benefit. Why? It is because we found out there is no hope at all that our western partners will cooperate with us if we suspend our enrichment activities. If we had not accepted that optional suspension - of course, it was imposed in a way, but we and our officials accepted it anyway - some people would have said, "If you had retreated a little bit, all problems would have been solved and Iran's nuclear file would have become normal". That act of suspending our enrichment activities brought us this advantage: it became clear that problems will not be solved by retreating, suspending enrichment activities, postponing our work and cancelling many of our plans and programs. It became clear that the other side is after something else. We noticed this and therefore we started our enrichment activities again.

  • America's hostilities will never be over

    Nov 3, 2013

One reason is that the enmity of America towards the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic is not at all about the nuclear issue. It is wrong to think that America's hostility towards us is based on the nuclear issue. This is not the case. The nuclear issue is an excuse. Even long before the nuclear issue - that is to say, since the beginning of the Revolution - these hostilities and oppositions existed. Even if one day the nuclear issue is resolved - imagine that the Islamic Republic retreats, which is the thing they want - you should not think that these hostilities will be over. No, they will gradually make tens of other excuses. For example, they will say, "why do you have missiles?", "why do you have drones?", "why are you on unfriendly terms with the Zionist regime?", "why do you not officially recognize the Zionist regime?", "why do you support resistance groups?" in, as they call it, the Middle East region and why and why and why... The issue is not that they have disagreements with the Islamic Republic about its nuclear program. This is not the case. America's sanctions began since the beginning of the Revolution and these sanctions increased on a daily basis so much so that today, it has reached a high level.

  • The real progress must be inborn

    Oct 9, 2013

A number of countries may offer their natural resources and oil barrels to leading countries in terms of wealth and knowledge and they may buy their products in return. In such countries, a kind of superficial progress may be achieved, but this is not real progress. The real progress is inborn and it is made when a nation depends on its own domestic capabilities. The value of countries, governments and nations depends on this inborn power. If a country makes a leap on its own and if it achieves growth from the inside, this will make this country and this nation valuable, important and respected. But if such growth is not achieved from the inside and if it is achieved with the help of others, then this country will not earn respect. Well, during the time of Taghut, it was foreigners and westerners who were prepared to do part of the work related to the nuclear technology in our country and they used to sign certain contracts with Iran. The Bushehr nuclear power plant, which we built with great difficulty after the passage of many years, was supposed to be built by the Germans. Of course, the Germans took the money and did nothing in return and after the Revolution, they did not give us any answer. Now, imagine that such and such a western country builds and manages a nuclear power plant for us and then we benefit from the electricity that such a power plant can generate. This has no dignity and value for a nation. Respect and dignity are achieved when a nation shows its own capabilities. When you develop such a capability, then you can benefit - on an equal footing - from the capabilities of other people, as they benefit from your capabilities.

  • We are against nuclear weapons because of our belief

    Sep 17, 2013

They raise the issue of nuclear weapons. Well, we do not believe in nuclear weapons, not because of such and such people and not because of America and other countries. Rather, we are against nuclear weapons because of our belief. No one should have nuclear weapons. When we say that other countries should not have nuclear weapons, it means that we ourselves should not and will not have them. But, their problem is something else. If certain countries emerge which put an end to their exclusive right, they will have no problems with that. Of course, they do not want to give up their self-proclaimed right, but if this happens, they will not create uproar about it. But when it comes to Islamic Iran and the Islamic Republic, they create uproar. Why do they do this? It is because having such a capability and power is a source of support for the Islamic Republic which is based on "[Deal] not unjustly, nor shall you be dealt with unjustly." This is the main challenge. We should know and see this. With such an outlook, we should analyze and interpret the behavior of America, the west and such and such a country and orientation which is dependent on and attached to these powers. This is the Islamic Revolution.

  • Deal not unjustly, nor shall you be dealt with unjustly

    Sep 17, 2013

Well, global arrogance promotes war, poverty and decadence and it does this by dividing the world into the oppressed and the oppressor. Islam - that is to say, the Islamic Revolution which is based on Islamic concepts - says, "Deal not unjustly, nor shall you be dealt with unjustly." It rejects all these negative elements. This is the main challenge. This is the root of their enmity. This is why they fight the Islamic Revolution. Other issues are all excuses. We should adopt such an outlook on sanctions, domestic wars, coups d'état and other events which have taken place during the recent years such as the nuclear issue.

  • The nuclear issue would be resolved if the West wasn't so stubborn

    Jun 26, 2013

The problem with them is that they do not want Iran's nuclear issue to be resolved. If it had not been for their stubbornness, the nuclear issue would have been easily resolved. On many occasions, we came very close to a solution. They signed the agreements. The International Atomic Energy Agency signed the agreements. It admitted that the problems had been eliminated. The documents exist. These things cannot be denied. Well, the issue should have ended. The nuclear file should have been closed. But the Americans immediately created a new problem. They do not want the nuclear issue to end. There are many examples in this regard. Resolving the nuclear issue with the Islamic Republic is an easy and smooth matter due to the nature of the Islamic Republic. However, when the other side does not want this issue to be resolved, the conditions would be no better than they are. Therefore, they should pay attention to this point. In the case of the nuclear issue, the Islamic Republic has acted in a legal and transparent way and it has also been reasonable and logical. However, they believe that the nuclear issue is a good excuse to pressure the Islamic Republic. Even if the nuclear issue were resolved, they would create another issue to pressure the Islamic Republic.

  • The purpose of the pressures

    Mar 21, 2013

They say they are concerned that we might go after producing nuclear weapons. The ones who are saying this are no more than a few countries whose names I mentioned earlier, and they call themselves "the global community". They say that the global community is concerned. No, the global community is not at all concerned. The majority of the countries in the world are on the Islamic Republic's side and they support our demand because it is a legitimate demand. If the Americans wanted to resolve the issue, this would be a very simple solution: they could recognize the Iranian nation's right to enrichment and in order to address those concerns, they could enforce the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency. We were never opposed to the supervision and regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Whenever we are close to a solution, the Americans cause a problem in order to prevent reaching a solution. My assumption and interpretation is that their goal is to keep the issue unresolved so that they can have a pretext for exerting pressure on us. And as they themselves said, the purpose of the pressure is to cripple the Iranian nation. Of course, much to the dismay of the enemy, the Iranian nation will not be crippled.

  • Some countries possess nukes to dispel threats; We reject this conception

    Aug 30, 2012

It is most unfortunate to see that countries possessing the largest nuclear arsenals have no serious and genuine intention of removing these deadly weapons from their military doctrines and they still consider such weapons as an instrument that dispels threats and as an important standard that defines their political and international position. This conception needs to be completely rejected and condemned.

  • All countries should be able to employ nuclear energy

    Aug 30, 2012

On the basis of international laws, peaceful use of nuclear energy is a right of every country. All should be able to employ this wholesome source of energy for various vital uses for the benefit of their country and people, without having to depend on others for exercising this right. Some Western countries, themselves possessing nuclear weapons and guilty of this illegal action, want to monopolize the production of nuclear fuel. Surreptitious moves are under way to consolidate a permanent monopoly over production and sale of nuclear fuel in centers carrying an international label but in fact within the control of a few Western countries.

  • The only country guilty of using nuclear weapons claims opposition to nuclear proliferation

    Aug 30, 2012

A bitter irony of our era is that the U.S. government, which possesses the largest and deadliest stockpiles of nuclear arms and other weapons of mass destruction and the only country guilty of its use, is today eager to carry the banner of opposition to nuclear proliferation. The U.S. and its Western allies have armed the usurper Zionist regime with nuclear weapons and created a major threat for this sensitive region. Yet the same deceitful group does not tolerate the peaceful use of nuclear energy by independent countries, and even opposes, with all its strength, the production of nuclear fuel for radiopharmaceuticals and other peaceful and humane purposes. Their pretext is fear of production of nuclear weapons. In the case of the Islamic Republic of Iran, they themselves know that they are lying, but lies are sanctioned by the kind of politics that is completely devoid of the slightest trace of spirituality. One who makes nuclear threats in the 21st century and does not feel ashamed, will he feel ashamed of lying?

  • Nuclear weapons do not safeguard any political power

    Aug 30, 2012

Nuclear weapons neither ensure security, nor do they consolidate political power, rather they are a threat to both security and political power. The events that took place in the 1990s showed that the possession of such weapons could not even safeguard a regime like the former Soviet Union. And today we see certain countries which are exposed to waves of deadly insecurity despite possessing atomic bombs.

  • Nuclear weapon is Haraam; Nuclear energy is a right

    Aug 30, 2012

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the use of nuclear, chemical and similar weapons as a great and unforgivable sin. We proposed the idea of “Middle East free of nuclear weapons” and we are committed to it. This does not mean forgoing our right to peaceful use of nuclear power and production of nuclear fuel

  • Nukes do not safeguard any power

    Aug 30, 2012

Nuclear weapons neither ensure security, nor do they consolidate political power, rather they are a threat to both security and political power. The events that took place in the 1990s showed that the possession of such weapons could not even safeguard a regime like the former Soviet Union. And today we see certain countries which are exposed to waves of deadly insecurity despite possessing atomic bombs.

  • The false claim links the sanctions to the nukes

    Jul 24, 2012

Their claim that they are opposed to the Islamic Republic because of nuclear weapons, is also a lie. In the beginning, we announced it as a guess, but later on it became clear during international negotiations and interactions that they know the Islamic Republic is not after nuclear weapons. They believe and acknowledge that the Islamic Republic is not after nuclear weapons and this is the truth, yet they bring up the issue of nuclear weapons. Therefore, the claim that these pressures, these sanctions, these sieges, these enmities and these hostilities are due to the issue of nuclear weapons and technology, is a lie. The fact that this claim is false is also a reality. The truth is that their opposition is because of the essence of the Revolution and the existence of the Islamic Republic. They were ruling the region without any worries. They had full control over a country like Iran, with its rich resources and numerous facilities. They used to do whatever they wanted. They used to make whatever decisions they wanted. They used to make the best of the facilities of our country in order advance their own goals. But now they have been deprived of all these things.

  • The story of a nation that has decided to resist

    Feb 22, 2012

This movement is not just a nuclear movement. Today their pretext is the nuclear issue. They use the nuclear pretext to impose sanctions on us. How long is it since the nuclear issue was first brought up? The sanctions have been there for thirty years. Why were they imposing sanctions on us when the nuclear issue did not exist? It is just a matter of fighting a nation that has decided to become independent, a nation that has decided to resist oppression, a nation that has decided to expose oppression, a nation that has decided to stand up against oppressors and oppression, a nation that is determined to convey this message to the entire world. We have tried to convey this message and by Allah's favor, we will try even harder in the future. Sanctions, political pressure and other such things will not be effective. When a nation decides to stand firm, when a nation believes in divine assistance and its domestic power and capacities, nothing can stand in its way.

  • Nukes do not bring about power

    Feb 22, 2012

The purpose of the uproar they cause is to stop us. They know that we are not after nuclear weapons. They already know this. I do not have any doubts that in the countries that are opposed to us, the organizations in charge of decision-making are fully aware that we are not after nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are not at all beneficial to us. Moreover, from an ideological and fiqhi perspective, we consider developing nuclear weapons as unlawful. We consider using such weapons as a big sin. We also believe that keeping such weapons is futile and dangerous, and we will never go after them. They know this, but they stress the issue in order to stop our movement. We want to prove to the world that nuclear weapons do not bring about power. This is because the nuclear powers are suffering from the biggest problems today. They dominated the world through nuclear threats, but today such threats are no longer effective. We want to say that we are not after nuclear weapons, that we do not believe nuclear weapons bring about power and that we can break the kind of power that is based on nuclear weapons. By Allah's favor, our nation will do this

  • Nuclear science paves the path of progress for the nations

    Apr 17, 2010

The study of atoms and nuclear sciences are one of the greatest human achievements which can and should be at the service of the wellbeing of nations across the world as well as the growth and development of all human societies. The applications of nuclear sciences cover a wide range of medical and industrial needs as well as energy requirements, each of which has considerable importance. For this reason, it can be said that nuclear technology has gained a prominent position in economic areas of life. And with the passage of time and the rise in industrial and medical needs and energy requirements, its importance will continue growing, and the efforts to achieve and utilize nuclear energy will increase accordingly. Just like other nations of the world, Middle Eastern nations that are thirsty for peace, security, and progress have the right to guarantee their economic position as well as a superior position for their future generations through utilizing this technology. Preventing the nations of the region from paying serious attention to this natural and valuable right is probably one of the goals behind creating doubts about the peaceful nuclear programs of the Islamic Republic of Iran

  • The only nuclear criminal claims to fight the nukes

    Apr 17, 2010

The interesting point is that currently the only nuclear criminal in the world is falsely claiming to fight the proliferation of nuclear weapons. This is while there is no doubt that it has not taken any serious measures in this regard, and it will never do so. If America's claims of fighting the proliferation of nuclear weapons were not false, would the Zionist regime be able to turn the occupied Palestinian lands into an arsenal where a huge number of nuclear weapons are stored while refusing to respect international regulations in this regard, especially the NPT? Unfortunately, although the word atom is associated with the progress of human knowledge, it is equally associated with the most appalling event in history and the greatest genocide and misuse of man's scientific accomplishments. Although many countries have made an effort to manufacture and amass nuclear weapons - which in itself can be considered a preface to committing crimes and has seriously jeopardized global peace - there is only one government that has committed a nuclear crime so far. Only the government of the United States of America has attacked the oppressed people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic bombs in an unfair and inhumane war

  • Iran just looks for the nuclear knowledge it needs

    Dec 6, 2009

Iran is just looking for the nuclear knowledge it needs. If the Iranian nation does not obtain this knowledge today, it will be too late in the future, the future in which global economy will revolve around nuclear energy instead of oil. They want the Iranian nation to stand idle, waiting for others to help it in the future. The entire nuclear issue boils down to this [nuclear knowledge]. Today we are working in order to obtain the nuclear knowledge we need so our future generations, and the great Iranian nation will not be forced to beg this knowledge from the west in the future. Oil belongs to us. We extract it from our own oil reserves and export it to western countries. But westerners are bullying us even in the case of oil! Today western governments are making a greater profit than the oil exporting countries out of the oil that is extracted from the oil wells of this region! Just imagine what will happen to the countries that will try to get nuclear energy from westerners in the future. That is what the Islamic Republic is thinking about, so it insists that Iran should obtain this nuclear knowledge and technology. But they cause uproar in the world and ask us why we are trying to achieve nuclear knowledge. They spread slander and mislead global public opinion, claiming that Iran is after a nuclear bomb. Nuclear energy is an indisputable right of the Iranian nation. But the problem is that the global arrogant powers are using different kinds of machinations and propaganda techniques in order to deprive the Iranian nation from this indisputable right. When treading their path, nations should find out what their enemy is doing at critical moments. When they see that they cannot confront a nation through military action or threatening, they start causing trouble.

  • None of the nuclear countries have same situation as Iran

    Aug 26, 2008

Chinese people had nothing in the year 1948 – when the new communist china was founded. However, the Soviet Union provided China with whatever they needed to make progress even provided them with nuclear energy. This was during the Stalin era. The existence of a great country like china next to the Soviet Union and in the heart of Asia was very valuable for the Communist Soviet Union of those days. Chinese people received nuclear energy as a gift from the Soviet Union But our youth achieved nuclear energy through their own efforts. Both China and Russia even provided North Korea with nuclear technology. The same is true about India as well – of course in other aspects. The bitter dispute that was caused between China and Russia – as you know, there was bitter dispute between these two communist countries for several years after the Stalin era, like the dispute between the East and the West, and maybe a little more serious than that. On the one hand, China provided Pakistan with nuclear energy technology, and on the other hand, Russia provided India with nuclear energy and helped them make other sorts of accomplishments. None of the countries which have made progress in various fields are in a similar situation as our country today. While our country was the subject to enmity from several countries – both the communist countries of the East and the capitalist countries of the West seriously opposed us; European countries, eager to adopt a moderate stance, not only did not help us but dealt blows to our country as well – our smart and clever youth managed to make progress. Great achievements have been made in the country, which is the cause of hope about the future. Our youth can make progress in the future as well. Therefore, I am very optimistic about the future.

  • When dependency brings legitimacy

    Jun 3, 2008

That is one of the reasons behind the enmity of the arrogant powers and the global plots against the Iranian nation regarding the nuclear energy and similar issues. They sign nuclear contracts with other countries that are far behind the Iranian nation in terms of their scientific knowledge and industrial means. But, as you can see, the Americans are pioneers and some Europeans follow suite in opposing the Iranian nation's right to achieving nuclear energy. They keep threatening and being insolent. What could this mean? It means that when nuclear energy causes a nation to become dependant on them, they consider it legitimate for the nation. They are opposed to that sort of nuclear energy that is gained through a nation's innovation and independently of their help.

  • West Opposes Iran's self-determining nuclear program

    Jun 3, 2008

They are opposed to that sort of nuclear energy that is gained through a nation's innovation and independently of their help. Our dear youth and our great nation managed to achieve this advantage and this advanced industrial and scientific accomplishment by relying on their own capabilities. They did not bring about dependence. Rather they acted against dependence by doing so. The sort of nuclear energy that is offered to other nations by arrogant powers is itself a cause of dependence. However, for the Iranian nation that manufactures creatively, nuclear energy prevents dependence. The global arrogance and the enemies of the Iranian nation are opposed to this.

  • The reason for US anger is Iran not asking for permission

    Feb 17, 2008

The president of the United States said some days ago that they will put pressure on Iran so that the people of Iran come to the conclusion that following their nuclear activities is useless for them. This means that when the Iranian nation achieves a technological breakthrough, like nuclear energy in their opinion, other nations will be so encouraged and they will believe in their own abilities. If this happens, western powers will not be able to control this. They do not want to let this happen. Of course, they interpret the issue in a different way in order to stop our progress. They say that they are afraid of a nuclear bomb, but they themselves and many other people in the world know that they are lying. They are not concerned about a nuclear bomb. They know that Iran is not after building a nuclear bomb, but rather Iran is after acquiring and developing nuclear technology. That is why they are concerned. A nation has managed to make huge progress on its own while it has not asked for their permission and it has not begged them for their help

  • Iran needs nuclear energy to produce electricity

    Jan 3, 2008

What makes you think it [nuclear energy] is useless? In the next 20 years, we need to produce at least 20,000 megawatts of electricity from nuclear energy. According to the estimate which was conducted to assess the country's energy requirements, we need at least 20,000 megawatts generated by our nuclear power plants, otherwise we will have to beg for electricity. And if we fail to do so, consider it beneath our dignity or they refuse to give it to us, we must dispense with whatever that is powered by electricity: factories and many of the means necessary for production and development. When should we start so that we can generate 20,000 megawatts of electricity in twenty years? It is by no means early now, if not late. It may even be too late already

  • Iranian scientists proved that "We Can"

    Jan 3, 2008

What a big lie is the remark "we do not need it" or the remark "you cannot build nuclear power plants, so why do you need four percent uranium?" It is again the same old argument: "You cannot..." Why not? Why is it impossible for a nation that managed to build such an enormous enrichment center, to build a nuclear power plant? We must be able to do it. Why not? There was a day when they said "you cannot even build steam power plants." I remember that in my own term of presidency, there was an unfinished power plant near Tehran that had been built during the reign of the Pahlavi regime. They tried to get international brokers to finish it. There were some others who believed we could finish the project single-handedly. We invited some of the officials who were directly related to these affairs. We summoned the prime minister - and some of the top officials of the country - and some others to the presidential office to discuss the issue. They came and said that it was impossible for us to finish the project and start using the power plant. This was their judgment. They said it was totally impossible. They said we had to ask foreigners for help. We did not invite foreigners, however. Instead, our own experts went there and finished it. And now it has been generating electricity for years and the country has been using its output.

  • Main points of propaganda against Iran

    Jun 4, 2006

The propaganda uproar that mainly the Americans, Zionists networks and the news empire which is dependent on Zionism use against the people of Iran and the Islamic Republic constantly stresses a few points. These networks always repeat their nonsensical statements so that they may be able to provoke the world against the Islamic Republic and the people of Iran. These few points are: first, there is a global consensus against Iran. Second, Iran is a threat for the world. Third, Iran intends to build nuclear bombs and weapons. Fourth, Iran violates human rights. All the propaganda moves of the enemy rely on these few points and they repeat them with different words and methods

  • We do not need nuclear bomb cause we do not have any target to use for it

    Jun 4, 2006

Another issue that they raise is that Iran is after building a nuclear bomb. This is a nonsensical, false and completely untrue allegation. We do not need a nuclear bomb. We do not have any target for which we want to use our nuclear bomb. We believe that using a nuclear weapon is not compatible with Islamic rules and we have said this frankly and outspokenly. We believe that if we impose the cost of building and preserving a nuclear weapon on our people, this is an illegitimate and unnecessary imposition. Building and maintaining such a weapon is very costly and we do not at all consider it appropriate to impose this cost on our people because we do not need it. We do not claim - like the Americans - that we want to dominate and bully the world. So, we do not need a nuclear bomb. Our nuclear bomb and explosive power is our faith and our youth and the people who have stood in the most difficult arenas with complete power and faith. And they will continue to stand in these arenas. It is the Americans' political and propaganda apparatuses that are behind these false allegations. Of course, the Zionists are with the Americans and they help them.

  • Why Iran shouldn't advance in nuclear technology?

    Mar 21, 2006

In summary, the enemy wants to say to the people of Iran, "You should not have nuclear technology". Why? "It is because nuclear technology will make you strong in different arenas. You should not have this technology so that you remain weak and it becomes easier to bully you". The people should be careful about what exists at the heart of the enemy's words
