Trying to detach Islamic identity from Iranian nation, arrogant powers seek to dominate Iran

What the enemies and the implacable enemies of our nation have always sought to do was to destroy the identity of this nation. When a nation feels that it has no identity, it can be subjugated easily. They deny such nations' potentialities and internal power in order to gain full control over them.

Soft wars are not particular to Iran, but in the case of Iran, the goal of such thought-out and calculated wars is to transform the Islamic Republic of Iran and make it change its essential nature while preserving its outward structure and form.

Within the framework of the goals that the enemy's soft war pursues, the preservation or not of the name ‘Islamic Republic' and even the presence of a turban-wearer at the top of the system is not of importance. What is important is that Iran works towards the goals of America, Zionism and the network of global power.

Our people have convictions and beliefs about religion, family, issues related to ‘women and men', independence, confronting foreigners, Islamic democracy and different cultural matters, but the other side is trying to tamper with or change these beliefs. Our people have certain beliefs about the previous corrupt and dictatorial regime, but there is an effort - through this soft war - to change this ugly, evil and dark past into a bright and beautiful one.

They want to instill into today's youth the idea that the current situation of the country is a source of embarrassment and that making progress in the future is impossible as well. This way, they want to take away enthusiasm, dynamism, pursuance of knowledge and hope towards the future from the young generation.

The ultimate goal of the schemed soft war is to cause an internal melt down and erosion of the Islamic Republic through changing beliefs and weakening people-- particularly the youth.

The Iranian nation made use of its whole being in order to achieve this great ideal. In fact, it was during the Islamic Revolution that the Iranian nation felt it had an identity. What the enemies and the implacable enemies of our nation have always sought to do was to destroy the identity of this nation. When a nation feels that it has no identity, it can be subjugated easily. They deny such nations' potentialities and internal power in order to gain full control over them. That was the policy they doggedly pursued and strengthened on a daily basis during the miserable era in which the Pahlavi regime made strenuous efforts to bring about a radical cultural change in this country.

The Islamic Republic reversed the trend, and now the Iranian nation feels that it has an identity. It gained an Islamic identity which gave rise to the present Iranian identity. The Iranian nation feels that an Islamic and Iranian identity is what the nation has to regain. The Iranian nation should specify and plan for its ideals on the basis of this identity. The nation feels that it must make sincere efforts on the basis of this Islamic identity. This is what our nation has been doing well. I do not at all believe in what the prophets of doom keep saying, and I reject what they are saying. Knowing about the different issues that trouble our country and our great nation, I can see with my own eyes that after the passage of almost three decades since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation and its youth have become more reflective and experienced regarding the principles of the Revolution.

What is important for our people is that, the U.S., as an invasive power, has learned that its previous plots have failed in this region. The last plot consisted of military action; but the case of Afghanistan and Iraq showed that in this region military action is not effective; it brings about a lot of problems. Especially when the opponent is a country like the great Iran; a nation like the brave and devout Iranian nation; a region with deep cultural roots, with feelings rising from belief among the people; and with a government relying on the people's vote. Here, they need to work harder. Previously, they threatened by military action. But now they confess their last plot was a mistake. They say the plot must be one for dominating the Iranian nation from inside; they look forward to it now.

Domination takes place in two forms: via a cultural movement and via a political movement; the Iranian nation must be aware of it. The goal of the American Arrogant system and the Zionists who are their accomplices on the same front, is to make the Iranian nation reluctant and careless about their ideals, beliefs and goals. Then, they seek to prepare the grounds for the return of the domination of the U.S. over Iran through their agents. In the political movement, the main plot is to cause divisions, so that different groups attack one other. All the groups that have risen from the revolution and depend on it, attack each other: this is the primary plot of the US in our region. They seek to impose challenges on our country over made-up incidents, and bring about a chaotic atmosphere. They seek to bring about quarrels over essentials of the Islamic republic system--like the constitution, religion and the Islamic pillar of the system-- and create challenges and divisions. They follow up on these political-thinking movements.
