Ayatollah Khamenei

Why does Ayatollah Khamenei enjoys reading Asimov’s novelette?

"The Bicentennial Man" is far beyond the scientific realities of our time, that is to say that science does not allow such a thing; however, it is entertaining but not in a useless way.

“The Bicentennial Man,” by Isaac Asimov (1920--1992) has recently been published in Farsi. I came across it. In this book, a robot suddenly develops intellect, conscience and comprehension capability! This is far beyond the scientific realities of our time, that is to say that science does not allow such a thing; however, it is entertaining but not in a useless way , it’s not nonsense; the book opens new horizens to the mind and this is a good thing. This type of books has always existed. There were stories which were only imaginations at the time they were written but now they are close to reality.
