Sheikh Mustafa Ulama Appointed as Kermanshah's Friday Prayer Leader

Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued a decree on February 20, 2008 appointing Hajj Sheikh Mustafa Ulama as Kermanshah's Friday prayer leader and his representative in Kermanshah Province. The text of the decree is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Hojatoleslam Hajj Sheikh Mustafa Ulama,

I express my appreciation to Hojatoleslam wal-Muslemin Hajj Sheikh Hossein Zarandi, may his spiritual virtue keep benefiting people, who rendered valuable services in Kermanshah for many years, and appoint you as Friday prayer leader and my representative in that city and province. Kermanshah is the land of brave men who, in different eras, especially during the years of the Sacred Defense, lived up to their reputation as manly people imbued with sincere faith. Enduring the hardships of the [Iraqi-imposed] war and their fortitude in the face of the enemy's machinations, will for ever remain in the Iranian nation's memory.
Being one of the same people and as a knowledgeable and practical person, you are familiar with the duties that religious scholars have to shoulder. And the affable people of that region, especially the dear youth, will, by Allah's favor, benefit from your moral and spiritual attributes and social services.
I pray to Allah the Exalted to bestow success and grace on you.
Greetings be upon you and Allah's mercy

Sayyid Ali Khamenei
