Leader Urges Adoption of Transparent Positions

Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with the officials of the Islamic Development Organization and the officials in charge of holding the annual 10-day Fajr ceremonies which mark the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Speaking at the meeting, he said that everybody should adopt a transparent position in a fitna.

Iranian people take part in annual rallies on Bahman 22 (February 11) each year, marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. The Leader of the Islamic Republic said that each year the presence of millions of people in Bahman 22 demonstrations shows that the Revolution and the Islamic Republic rely on the religious faith of the people. "This is the main reason why the enemies are unable to undermine the Islamic Republic."

His Eminence said that the opponents of the Islamic Republic are terrified when they see the massive participation of the people in various demonstrations held in the country. He reiterated: "In order to mask this solidarity, with the help of their agents, the enemies pretend in their propaganda that the people are suffering from discord."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: "During this year's Quds Day rallies, which were meant to oppose the Zionist regime, a few misguided people shouted slogans against Palestine and in favor of the Zionist regime. Similarly, on the 13th of Aban [November 4, 2009], which was a day for expressing hatred towards American arrogance, some people shouted slogans against the Islamic Republic and its Islamic aspect."

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the Iranian nation is committed to the essential slogans of Islamic Revolution and that the greatness of the Iranian nation is due to the presence of the people on the scene. "The Islamic Republic was established due to public determination and faith," he said, further adding that such faith and determination have helped the Islamic Republic move forward firmly.

His Eminence reiterated: "The Islamic Revolution is a reality that originated from a divine law. As long as the Revolution relies on the faith and passion of the people, the global powers will not be able to deal a blow even if they join forces."

Ayatollah Khamenei described Bahman 22 as national wealth and said that it belongs to the Iranian nation, Imam Khomeini (r.a.), and the martyrs. He added: "The enemy is trying to undermine this great national wealth. Therefore, we must be present on the scene with all our power and move ahead thoughtfully."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the 9th of Dey [December 30] was a critical moment. "The people appropriately detected this need, and the 9th of Dey became one of the peaks in the history of the Islamic Revolution."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that July 14, 1999 was another critical moment and reiterated that the demonstrations on July 14, 1999 and December 30, 2009 were out of the ordinary.

His Eminence said that adopting a transparent position and avoiding an ambiguous stance are another important need in a fitna. He added: "The enemies are always opposed to clarity because they can achieve their goals only in a confusing situation and in a fitna."

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed: "In the present conditions, all the movements and political fronts with different political tendencies must clearly specify the boundary between themselves and the enemy. In this regard, our elites, especially those who are highly influential, have a heavier responsibility to fulfill."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated: "It is not appropriate for our elites to adopt an ambiguous stance, and they should clearly express their position on the statements and actions of the enemy."

He further added: "When the leaders of arrogance and oppression and the occupiers of Islamic countries step into the arena and adopt a certain position, it is not right to speak ambiguously because it should be clear what the positions of the members of the Islamic Republic are and whether they are prepared to distance themselves from the enemy."

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "Our elites are expected to clearly specify their positions in a fitna when some people question the elections and renounce Islam in words and the republican aspect of the government in action."

He stressed that transparency will hinder the enemy and that confusion will help it. "This is a criterion for the actions of all movements and people, especially our elites."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the enemies will continue their enmity towards the Islamic Republic. He also reiterated that a vigilant, determined, faithful, and growing nation can foil all the enemies' plots.
