The Quran has provided us with a criterion, “Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and those who are with him …” (Quran 48:29). We are discussing those who are with him. Are we with the Prophet(pbuh) or not? “… are hard against the unbelievers.” If you see that the path you are taking is a path that makes the unbelievers happy, then know that you are not being “hard against the unbelievers.” So you are not moving with the Prophet(pbuh) . [But] if you see that the path you are taking is upsetting and angering the arrogant, vicious, governments who are against religion and Islam, then that is being “hard against the unbelievers.” That is the standard and the criterion.
