Leader agrees to request to declare Ali Landi a martyr

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed to the request of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs to declare Ali Landi, the self-sacrificing teenage Iranian boy, a martyr.

Mr. Qazizadeh Hashemi, the head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, wrote a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. In this letter he emphasized Ali Landi's great self-sacrifice in rescuing two of his fellow citizens by going into the middle of a fire. After the boy passed away yesterday due to severe burns, Mr. Qazizadeh Hashemi requested that this courageous teenage boy be declared a martyr. This request was accepted by the Leader of the Revolution.

Ali Landi, this courageous hero, was a fifteen-year old Iranian boy from the city of Izeh in Khuzestan Province. Ali entered into the middle of a burning fire to rescue two neighbor women who were trapped in a burning house. He was seriously burned and passed away on Friday.
