Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met with the officials and staff of the Ministry of Intelligence. He described this ministry as one of the best and the most loyal organizations that emerged out the Islamic Revolution and added: "Exerting silent, strenuous efforts, the Intelligence Ministry has been protecting the Revolution, Islamic values, and the people against the enemies. Everyone must appreciate these efforts." He also stressed that the silent and sincere efforts on the part of the Ministry of Intelligence requires fighting carnal desires, paying attention to God, and strengthening the sense of abstinence and piety.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the positive attitude on the part of the public towards the Ministry of Intelligence and compared it with the public fear and hatred of the Pahlavi intelligence system. He continued: "This is one of the strengths of the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Intelligence. And the relationship with the people and obtaining their support must be strengthened more than before."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that care must be taken to conscientiously carry out duties and to protect people's reputation. He also stressed that personal motives must not interfere with evaluation processes. "The Ministry of Intelligence must always continue on a direct path regardless of all political turbulence."
His Eminence emphasized the need for improving the professional standards and taking advantage of the latest software and hardware technology in the Ministry of Intelligence, further reiterating: "Appropriate cooperation with different organizations during the recent years has been one of the strengths of the Ministry of Intelligence, and this process must be maintained."
The Leader also referred to the extensive activities of the intelligence services of the enemies of the Islamic Republic and added: "The Ministry of Intelligence must organize effective activities, efforts, innovations, and measures proportional to the activities of the enemies. The Ministry of Intelligence must further increase its intelligence capabilities."
Ayatollah Khamenei continued: "As the Ministry of Intelligence acts on the basis of divine motives and moves on the path of righteousness with sincerity, according to invariable divine laws, it will always be victorious against the evil camp."
At the end of his speech, the Leader expressed his appreciation for the efforts on the part of the Ministry of Intelligence, especially the head this ministry.
