بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
السَّلامُ عَلَیٰ وَلِیِّ اللّٰهِ وَحَبِیبِهِ،
Peace be upon the intimate friend of Allah and His beloved!
السَّلامُ عَلَیٰ خَلِیلِ اللّٰهِ وَنَجِیبِهِ،
Peace be on the true friend of Allah and His distinguished one!
السَّلامُ عَلَیٰ صَفِیِّ اللّٰهِ وَابْنِ صَفِیِّهِ،
Peace be upon the one chosen by Allah, and the son of the one chosen [by Allah]!
السَّلامُ عَلَی الْحُسَیْنِ الْمَظْلُومِ الشَّهِیدِ،
Peace be upon Hussain, the oppressed, the martyr.
السَّلامُ عَلَیٰ أَسِیرِ الْکُرُباتِ وَقَتِیلِ الْعَبَرَاتِ.
Peace be upon the captive, who was encircled by sorrow and grief, was slain, and for whom tears are shed.
اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّی أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ وَ لِیُّکَ وَابْنُ وَلِیِّکَ،
O Allah, I witness that he is Your intimate friend and the son of Your intimate friend,
وَصَفِیُّکَ وَابْنُ صَفِیِّکَ، الْفَائِزُ بِکَرَامَتِکَ،
Your chosen one, and the son of Your chosen one, who was victorious by Your Might!
أَکْرَمْتَهُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ،
You honored him with martyrdom
وَحَبَوْتَهُ بِالسَّعَادَةِ،
and bestowed prosperity upon him.
وَاجْتَبَیْتَهُ بِطِیبِ الْوِلادَةِ،
You selected purified parents for him.
وَجَعَلْتَهُ سَیِّداً مِنَ السَّادَةِ، وَقَائِداً مِنَ الْقَادَةِ،
You appointed him a master of the masters, a leader of the leaders,
وَذَائِداً مِنَ الذَّادَةِ،
and a defender of rights from among the defenders of rights.
وَأَعْطَیْتَهُ مَوَارِیثَ الْأَنْبِیَاءِ،
And You gave him the inheritance of the Prophets.
وَجَعَلْتَهُ حُجَّةً عَلَیٰ خَلْقِکَ
And You made him a decisive argument over Your creation,
مِنَ الْأَوْصِیَاءِ،
from among the other successors.
فَأَعْذَرَ فِی الدُّعَاءِ،
In his invitation, he left no room for excuses
وَمَنَحَ النُّصْحَ
and preached without hesitation.
وَبَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِیکَ لِیَسْتَنْقِذَ
He put his heart, mind, soul and life for Your mission to liberate
عِبَادَکَ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ،
your servants from ignorance
وَحَیْرَةِ الضَّلالَةِ،
and the bewilderment of being astray.
وَقَدْ تَوَازَرَ عَلَیْهِ مَنْ غَرَّتْهُ الدُّنْیا،
And indeed, those who were deceived by this world, united against him
وَبَاعَ حَظَّهُ بِالْأَرْذَلِ الْأَدْنیٰ،
and sold their share of eternal prosperity for the lowest price,
وَشَرَیٰ آخِرَتَهُ بِالثَّمَنِ الْأَوْکَسِ،
betrayed their "Day of Judgement" for a vulgar return,
وَتَغَطْرَسَ وَتَرَدَّیٰ فِی هَوَاهُ،
took pride in insolence, fell into the well of their own base desires,
وَأَسْخَطَکَ وَأَسْخَطَ نَبِیَّکَ
and angered You and Your Prophet.
وَأَطَاعَ مِنْ عِبادِکَ أَهْلَ الشِّقاقِ وَالنِّفاقِ، وَحَمَلَةَ الْأَوْزارِ،
And they obeyed those who sow discord and hypocrisy and the bearers of sins,
الْمُسْتَوْجِبِینَ النَّارَ،.
who are condemned to Hellfire.
فَجاهَدَهُمْ فِیکَ صابِراً مُحْتَسِباً حَتَّیٰ سُفِکَ فِی طَاعَتِکَ دَمُهُ وَاسْتُبِیحَ حَرِیمُهُ؛
He (the Holy Imam) fought them for You with patience until in obeying You, he gave his life, after which the sanctum of his family was destroyed.
اللّٰهُمَّ فَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْناً وَبِیلاً ،
O Allah, curse them with a severe curse
وَعَذِّبْهُمْ عَذاباً أَلِیماً
and chastise them with a painful chastisement.
السَّلامُ عَلَیْکَ یَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ،
Peace be on you O the son of the Messenger of Allah!
السَّلامُ عَلَیْکَ یَا ابْنَ سَیِّدِ الْأَوْصِیاءِ؛
Peace be on you O the son of the master of the successors (of the Holy Prophet)!
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ أَمِینُ اللّٰهِ وَابْنُ أَمِینِهِ،
I bear witness that you are Allah’s trustee and the son of his trustee.
عِشْتَ سَعِیداً،
You lived a blessed and praiseworthy life,
وَ مَضَیْتَ حَمِیداً ، وَمُتَّ فَقِیداً ، مَظْلُوماً شَهِیداً.
departed from this world praised, and died forsaken, oppressed and a martyr.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُنْجِزٌ مَا وَعَدَکَ،
I bear witness that Allah will promptly fulfil the promise He made to you,
وَمُهْلِکٌ مَنْ خَذَلَکَ، وَمُعَذِّبٌ مَنْ قَتَلَکَ
destroy those who abandoned you, and punish those who killed you.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ وَفَیْتَ بِعَهْدِ اللّٰهِ،
I bear witness that you fulfilled your promise to Allah
وَجاهَدْتَ فِی سَبِیلِهِ حَتّیٰ أَتَاکَ الْیَقِینُ
and strived in His way until what was certain came upon you.
فَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ قَتَلَکَ،
So may the curse of Allah be on those who killed you.
وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَکَ،
May the curse of Allah be on those who oppressed you.
وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ أُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذٰلِکَ فَرَضِیَتْ بِهِ
May the curse of Allah be on the people who heard of this and were satisfied with it.
اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّی أُشْهِدُکَ
O Allah be my witness that
أَنِّی وَلِیٌّ لِمَنْ والاهُ، وَعَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عاداهُ،
I am friends with those who love him and oppose those who deny him.
بِأَبِی أَنْتَ وَأُمِّی یَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ،
May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O the son of the Messenger of Allah.
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ کُنْتَ نُوراً فِی الْأَصْلابِ الشَّامِخَةِ، وَالْأَرْحامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ،
I know and bear witness that you were "light" in the sublime loins and in the pure wombs.
لَمْ تُنَجِّسْکَ الْجاهِلِیَّةُ بِأَنْجاسِها، وَلَمْ تُلْبِسْکَ الْمُدْلَهِمَّاتُ مِنْ ثِیابِها،
You were free from all the impurities of ignorance, and you were never covered by its dark folds.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ مِنْ دَعائِمِ الدِّینِ، وَأَرْکانِ الْمُسْلِمِینَ، وَمَعْقِلِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ،
I bear witness that you are one of the pillars of religion, strong support of the Muslims, and refuge of the believers.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ الْإِمامُ الْبَرُّ التَّقِیُّ الرَّضِیُّ الزَّکِیُّ الْهادِی الْمَهْدِیُّ
I bear witness that you are beneficent, pious, satisfied, pure, the guide, and rightly guided.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِکَ کَلِمَةُ التَّقْویٰ ، وَأَعْلامُ الْهُدیٰ،
I bear witness that the Imams from among your descendants are the symbols of "piety," signs of "true guidance,"
وَالْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقیٰ، وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلَیٰ أَهْلِ الدُّنْیا،
the "firmest handhold," and the “decisive arguments” over humankind.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّی بِکُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَبِإِیابِکُمْ مُوقِنٌ،
I witness that I have full faith in you, and I know for certain that you shall return.
بِشَرایِعِ دِینِی، وَخَواتِیمِ عَمَلِی،
I am fully committed to the laws of my religion and certain of my deeds.
وَقَلْبِی لِقَلْبِکُمْ سِلْمٌ،
My heart is submissive to your heart,
وَأَمْرِی لِأَمْرِکُمْ مُتَّبِعٌ، وَنُصْرَتِی لَکُمْ مُعَدَّةٌ حَتَّیٰ یَأْذَنَ اللّٰهُ لَکُمْ،
my affairs are in accordance with your affairs, and I am ready to assist you until Allah gives you permission.
فَمَعَکُمْ مَعَکُمْ لَامَعَ عَدُّوِکُمْ،
I am with you, along with you, and not with your enemies.
صَلَواتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَیْکُمْ ، وَعَلَیٰ أَرْواحِکُمْ وَأَجْسادِکُمْ،
May Allah’s blessings be upon you, on your souls, and on your bodies,
وَشاهِدِکُمْ وَغَائِبِکُمْ،
when you are present and when you are absent,
وَظَاهِرِکُمْ وَبَاطِنِکُمْ،
upon your perceivable aspects and upon your inner being.
آمِینَ رَبَّ الْعالَمِینَ.
Be it so, O Lord of the worlds!
