Imam Khamenei's response to two enquiries on COVID-19

Imam Khamenei, one of the great Shia Religious Authorities and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, answered two questions concerning the religious laws about COVID-19. These two questions and Imam Khamenei's answers are as follows:

Question 1: What is the Islamic decree concerning visiting family members and attending ceremonies where there is a possibility of getting COVID-19?

Answer: Avoid entering a place where there is a rational possibility of infection, unless this possibility is eliminated by observing hygienic guidelines, or if the possibility is insignificant.

Question 2: If a person is infected with COVID-19 or has some of the symptoms showing he/she may have this disease, is he/she permitted to visit with those who are not aware of his/her condition?

Answer: If there is the rational possibility that he/she will spread it to others, this [visiting] should be avoided.
