Imam Khamenei granted amnesty or commutation to a number of convicts

On the blessed occasions of Eid al-Adha and Eid Ghadir Khom, Imam Khamenei granted amnesty or commutation for the sentences of 2,135 of those convicted in the General and Revolutionary Courts, the Justice Administration of the Armed Forces, and the Government Discretionary Punishments Organization.

In a letter to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the occasions of of Eid al-Adha and Eid Ghadir Khom, the Chief Justice of Iran, Hujjatul-Islam Raisi, proposed granting amnesty, commutation or a change of punishment for these convicts whose cases had been reviewed and approved by the Amnesty and Commutation Committee. In the implementation of Paragraph 11 of Article 110 of the Constitution, this proposal was accepted by Imam Khamenei.
