On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed to pardon or reduce the penalty of the sentences of 3,721 convicts who had been sentenced in the Public and Revolutionary Courts, the Judicial Organization of the Armed Forces, and the State Discretionary Punishment Organization.
On the occasion of the auspicious Eid al-Fitr, Hujjatul Islam Raisi, Iran’s Judiciary Chief, addressed a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and requested permission to pardon, reduce or change the sentences of 3,721 convicts who have been identified as meeting necessary conditions set by the Pardon and Exemption Commission of the Judiciary. This request was approved by Imam Khamenei in compliance with Article 11 of Act 110 of the Constitution.
