TEHRAN, July 5 -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei arrived in the western capital city of Hamedan Monday morning.
Crowds of enthusiastic people lined the streets leading to Hamedan airport to get a glimpse of the Leader, who was greeted on his arrival at the city by a number of provincial officials.
Speaking among thousands of local residents and officials, the Leader stressed that Iran's great, faithful, brave and cultured nation is capable of setting a remarkable example of national and Islamic development.
In order to achieve this goal, the Iranian people and officials should make efforts to create appropriate socio-economic dealings, he stated.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the country's executive, legislative and judiciary forces should endeavor to help develop the country and keep vigilant against the enemy's psychological warfare.
He stressed that the forces should uphold social justice and attempt to resolve the problems of people particularly those of the underprivileged people.
The Leader stated that the officials should shun vain issues and instead attempt to satisfy people's demands and stand accountable to the nation.
Referring to the people's role in the development of the country, Ayatollah Khamenei said the officials' efforts to utilize natural and material resources would bear fruit if only people gained an overall presence in all scenes through their spiritual assets and deep beliefs.
Describing the true reform of socio-economic dealings as a means to gain progress and attain complete development, he stressed that both people and the three branches of the government are responsible for creating healthy and proper socio-economic dealings.
The Leader expressed pleasure over Iran's success to gain independence in wheat production, adding that farmers and officials should be given encouragement for this purpose.
Ayatollah Khamenei lauded the will and determination of the Iranian nation toward attaining development, adding that officials should strengthen people's trust in the government by performing their duties efficiently.
He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with such a great national strength, will be able to resist any aggressive power.
In response to U.S. allegations that Iran was damaging Washington's interests, the Leader warned the United States that any attack on Iran's interests would be met with a global response.
"If the enemy attacks our scientific, natural, human or technological interests, the Iranian people will cut off its hand without hesitation and endanger the interests of the aggressor everywhere in the world," he said.
