On the occasion of the Eid-al-Fitr (fast-breaking feast), a large group of Iranian people and government officials met Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, on Sunday, November 14.
Speaking at the meeting, the Leader felicitated the audience on the auspicious occasion and said the Muslim Ummah may call the Eid-al-Fitr its real feast only when it acts upon the guidelines of the Holy Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) and when it takes effective measures to cure its maladies. He stressed that the Islamic world should believe that, by relying on its capabilities and through unity, it would be able to restore its great power and stand up to the bullying and intimidation of the enemies.
Ayatollah Khamenei further regarded division and lack of unity as the main problem besetting the Islamic world. "What prompts the arrogant powers to adopt a hostile stance toward the Islamic world, despite the fact that Muslim nations constitute one-fifth of the world's population and possess numerous resources, is the existence of division and discord among Muslim nations," he stated.
The Leader of the Islamic Republic further hinted at the crimes being committed by the arrogant powers in the occupied Palestine and Iraq and expressed regret over the fact that Islamic states are mere onlookers and impartial bystanders in the face of these crimes. He noted that based on the Islamic teachings, the dignity of Muslims is contingent on their perseverance combined with unity, power and bravery.
Referring to the accusations leveled by the arrogant powers against the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that despite the threats, the Iranian nation has stood against all the pressures with bravery and firmness.
In conclusion, the Leader called on the government officials to make every effort to serve the nation in the best possible manner.
