Today, the world of Islam is at a sensitive historical stage. The events that you are witnessing – the events related to the Saudi regime, Yemen, Iraq and Syria, all in different ways, and the events related to America, the Zionist regime and the plots that they hatch in the region, the decisions that they make and the pressures that they exert on the Islamic Republic – are a combination of different tasks through which a certain goal is being pursued.
In such circumstances that the world of Islam is in fact making a historical turn, we have certain responsibilities and obligations, each of us in different ways. Therefore, we cannot ignore the needs of the world of Islam in the present time. And the needs of the Islamic Republic are at the top of these needs. This is because the Islamic Republic is the manager and director of this great event. Of course, the players are many. The doers, agents and activists in the world of Islam are many, but the manager is the Islamic Republic.
Without a doubt, if it were not for the Islamic Republic, our magnanimous Imam (r.a.) and that spiritual cry which is reliant on divine traditions and which exists in our country, all these events would not have taken place in the world of Islam, arrogance would pursue his plans without any obstacle, he would not need all these challenges and all these problems would not exist for him. Therefore, the Islamic Republic has certain needs today which should be satisfied by us.
It cannot be denied that the world is on the verge of a transformation or that it is going through a transformation. And the fact that our country enjoys a special position is also undeniable.
A question comes to mind: do our universities and Islamic seminaries have a responsibility in the face of the events that are taking place in the world? I ask you honorable professors, esteemed scholars and outstanding personalities of the country to pay attention to this point. Can our universities and Islamic seminaries afford not to specify a responsibility for themselves in such important and sensitive conditions? Can our universities and Islamic seminaries afford to stand by and watch? Let alone, God forbid, play a role in supporting the camp that has deployed its forces against the camp of truth.
It appears to me that it is necessary for our universities and Islamic seminaries to shoulder a heavy responsibility in these conditions. The primary responsibility to help Iran and the Iranian nation to achieve success at this critical and sensitive stage lies on the shoulders of our scholars. Our universities also play a very important role in this transformation. Our universities can help our country and our nation become a winner in this transformation. They can also do the opposite. I believe that our universities have a very sensitive and great responsibility to play in this regard.
I would like to offer some pieces of advice. One piece of advice is addressed to all officials. Taking a look at the political conditions of the world and the region shows us that we are at a sensitive point. You should know that today, there is a historical turn in the real sense of the word. If you are not strong, you will be bullied not only by America and the west but also by creatures like Saddam. If you are not strong, you will be bullied and you will suffer from their impositions. You should be strong.
What are the elements of strength? How can we understand and accept that we are strong? These are the elements of strength: High morale, hopefulness, hard work and diligence, identifying economic, cultural and security rifts - you should identify and see these rifts - cooperation between different organizations in charge of affairs and cooperation between these organizations and the people. This is one piece of advice which is addressed to everyone.
