The Grand Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei received the officials in charge of Martyrs and Devotees' Affairs Foundation, the directors of the affiliated organs and their families on Saturday, March 12.
The meeting was held on the occasion of the anniversary of the decree issued by the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, late Imam Khomeini, on the establishment of Martyrs and Devotees' Affairs Foundation.
In an address to the audience, the Leader considered serving the devotees of the Islamic Revolution and their families as well as the families of the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the Islamic Revolution and in the course of the Sacred Defense, a great and very valuable deed.
He stated that the devotees and their families, by reviving the glorious culture of martyrdom and self-sacrifice, promoted spirituality and pure Islam not only in the Iranian society but in the whole world as well.
Ayatollah Khamenei further stressed that the Iranian people should hold the devotees of the Islamic Revolution and their families in high regard.
"The government officials as well as the common people should make every effort to preserve and strengthen the culture of martyrdom and self-sacrifice in society. However, the officials in charge of Martyrs and Devotees' Affairs Foundation shoulder a heavier responsibility in this regard," he pointed out.
The Leader of the Islamic Republic also welcomed the move to integrate the organs and institutions dealing with the devotees' affairs into one single organization.
In conclusion, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his gratitude for the great efforts made and valuable services rendered by the officials and staff of the foundation.
