While meeting with University students this evening (Monday), Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "During the revolution, since the beginning, there was a false idea that the revolution exists only until the formation of a government, and after that it should be eliminated. A revolution has different stages; what happened first was the first stage. The second stage represents the realization of revolutionary values and ideals via a revolutionary government. The next stage is about realization of values in a revolutionary society. The final stage is the formation of a revolutionary or Islamic civilization.
He went on to say: "Thus, the revolution doesn't end. A permanent and evolving change is required in order to achieve the goals of the revolution.
According to the Leader of the Revolution, main goals of the Islamic Revolution include: national dignity, national confidence, political, economic and cultural independence, freedom of thought and practice in framework, establishment of justice and preventing discrimination, enhancing social behaviour, and preparation of ambience for growth of spirituality.
These goals can't be achieved in a short time. If this revolution lives long, these goals will surely be achieved.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized: "I am informed about the matters of our country and receive reports. I believe we have moved forward in every goal I named. To the young person who says our situation is very bad, I understand their feelings, but not at all their words.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reminded his audience: "This meeting's discussions, overall, reveal that despite complaints, university students live in a lively and happy environment. Many of your complaints are appropriate. But there is a difference between you, the enthusiastic youth, and those like me who have seen more of this world. The difference is that you express wishes easily. But I can see by experience and feel the distance between a wish and practical realization of it. In order to bring about these wishes many prerequisites are needed, one of which is you expressing them. The future of our country in the hands of you the youth, who criticize today, will be a bright future."
He then stressed: "This meeting conveys a great annunciation: that the youth have motivation, belief, zeal, and are determined to act. Those who are hopeless about the future should view this and correct their opinion.”
Mentioning that one of the obstacles in the way of progress of the revolution is some officials, Ayatollah Khamenei added: "It is said that all the problems are thought to be created by the US and the UK. Well, may God curse the wicked US and the UK. But there are also domestic obstacles. Some of the domestic obstacles include lack of determination, laziness, and impatience. We also have revolutionary patience: Imam Ali (a.s.) who is a symbol of a revolutionary person was very patient. Being revolutionary doesn't necessarily mean destroying a governmental system. Being revolutionary is only possible in the existing context of the system.
He added: "One other obstacle is preoccupation with detrimental affairs and disagreement over trivial issues like the issue of virtual space.
Indicating that if widespread and condense invasions, of the Islamic Revolution’s enemy against public opinion, are not encountered by raising awareness and demanding the goals, the invasions will surely be destructive, the Leader of the Revolution added: "The troops of revolutionary and devout youth should make a wall against destruction of public opinion, and also managerial and scholarly environments. Values must be demanded in a proper manner. In public opinion aristocracy and ideological dependence on foreigners must be eliminated.”
