Mr. Haider al-Abadi, the Prime Minister of Iraq, and his entourage met with Ayatollah Khamenei this morning October 26, 2017.
Meeting Mr. Haider al-Abadi, the Prime Minister of Iraq, this morning (Thursday), Ayatollah Khamenei referred to unity among different ethnic groups, and the Iraqi government’s support of the people including their devout, brave Iraqi youth, as key to recent victories against terrorists and their allies.
Ayatollah Khamenei backed the Iraqi government's actions to defend its unified governance and territorial integrity, and called Iraq a determinant and important country in the Arab world.
Supporting the Iraqi government’s efforts, for developing relations with neighboring countries of the region, he stressed, "Meanwhile, you should be careful about the Americans’ mischief and never trust them."
He went on to say: The US created ISIS themselves; but, now that the terrorists were beaten by the the Iraqi people and government, they pretend to align themselves with this great change; although, they will undoubtedly use any opportunity to strike Iraq again.
Supporting the comprehensive expansion of the relations between Tehran and Baghdad in various fields, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution addressed Mr. Heidar al-Abadi, saying: "The region’s nations look forward to the success of Iraq: the result of the efforts and braveries of the Iraqi people, you and other Iraqi officials."
