Thousands of faithful and devoted Iranian citizens from various social strata met the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Tuesday, September 20.
The meeting took place on the occasion of the auspicious and felicitous birth anniversary of the savior of mankind and the promised Mahdi, His Holiness Imam of the Age (peace and greetings be upon him and may Almighty Allah hasten his reappearance).
Speaking at the meeting, the Leader felicitated the audience on the propitious occasion and described the belief in Imam Mahdi (peace and greetings be upon him) and looking forward to his reappearance as infusing the individual and the society with hopes, incentives, high morale and strong motivation to make progress.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the great achievements of the Iranian people in different spheres of activities over the past 27 years as the outcome of their motivation and power emanating from their belief in His Holiness Imam of the Age (may Almighty Allah hasten his reappearance).
"The great Iranian nation is today more powerful than in the past. The Iranian people are determined to accomplish their lofty ideals and noble objectives with firm resolve and determination, and they would not submit to any kind of pressure, threats or intimidation," Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.
Further in his statements, the Leader of the Islamic Republic pointed to the belief of various religions in the advent of a savior and the belief of Muslims in the promised Mahdi (peace and greetings be upon him). He noted that His Holiness Imam of the Age (may Almighty Allah hasten his reappearance) is the heir and successor to divine prophets and reformists and will seek to accomplish their divine mission.
"Looking forward to the advent of the savior of mankind indicates that the existing tyranny, oppression and injustice in the world are transient, and that ultimately a government based on divine justice will be established in the world. Besides, it imbues Muslims with the firm belief that there is no deadlock in their individual or social life, and that they should not succumb to despair," the Leader told the audience.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the belief in the reappearance of His Holiness Imam of the Age (peace and greetings be upon him) and cherishing hopes of a bright future should be combined with vigorous efforts and pious deeds in various spheres of activities.
"A nation that believes in the advent of the savior of mankind, the promised Mahdi (may Almighty Allah hasten his reappearance), will never feel weak. This nation will endure hardships and pressures and follow the path to progress and dignity with perseverance and strength, and it will never submit to bullying powers," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader stated that the arrogant powers are trying to instill the feelings of weakness in other nations and governments and undermine their strong points.
"Today, by the favor of Allah, the Iranian nation is standing up to the threats and intimidation of the arrogant powers, something which they find hard to take," the Leader told the gathering.
He further stated, "The esteemed Iranian president, who spoke at the recent session of the United Nations General Assembly on behalf of our nation, explicitly and firmly expressed the views and stances of the Iranian people, and this indicated the strong will and unshakable resolve of our nation."
In conclusion, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that committed and dedicated government officials should make incessant efforts to solve the people's problems, and that they should try to raise national science and technology to such a high level that the enemies may no longer cast a covetous eye on this country.
