The officials and employees of Martyrs Foundation met the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Thursday, September 29.
Speaking at the meeting, the Leader considered honoring and expressing gratitude to the devotees of the Islamic Revolution, war-disabled veterans, the former prisoners of war and esteemed families of martyrs a moral and religious duty as well as a rational responsibility.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the grandeur of devotion, self-sacrifice and commitment to one's country and nation and the need to appreciate this grandeur can be rightly realized in the light of moral and spiritual values.
"But even if one considers the matter from a rational viewpoint, one will come to the conclusion that the country is always in need of those who are ready to make great sacrifices in order to defend their country and nation. Therefore, honoring and paying tribute to devotees and holding them in high regard is also a rational responsibility," Ayatollah Khamenei told the audience.
Further in his statements, the Leader of the Islamic Republic pointed out that divine remuneration is the real reward for martyrs and their honorable families, war-disabled veterans and ex-prisoners of war.
"However, Martyrs Foundation is also entrusted with the responsibility for solving the problems facing devotees, and it should try to perform his responsibility in a proper manner," the Leader emphasized.
Before the Leader's statements, the director of Martyrs Foundation Hossein Dehqan presented a report on the foundation's activities.
