UN peace keeper day

The UN has disgraced itself on various issues: Ayatollah Khamenei

We do not agree with the action taken by westerners, who are led by America. The United Nations, which should serve the interests of nations, has unfortunately turned into a tool in the hands of these people. It just provides what they need. This is a disgrace for the United Nations.

They control the UN the way they want

Today, the Iranian nation has certain ideals, claims and big ideas for its own country, for the world of Islam and for humanity. Hungry wolves, unbridled savages, oppressive companies and materialistic groups have lined up against the Iranian nation. They build and export weapons, wage wars, control the United Nations the way they want, send their troops wherever they like, commit crimes, support oppression and support the usurping Zionists. They carry out oppressive actions against the human community - such as the one which we saw during the time of taghut in Iran - with their pretentious power and false arrogance. Today, there are also a number of people who question whether it is possible to stand up against and move forward in the face of the enemies who have formed a unified front against our country and who are equipped with money, media, a strong economy, a strong political system and everything. Today, they say the same things. This is what experience shows us.

Yes, it is possible. This is not what we say. This is what the Holy Quran says. If you step in the arena for the sake of God and if you resist, victory will be definite. "And if those who disbelieve fight with you, they would certainly turn (their) backs, then they would not find any protector or a helper. Such has been the sunnat of Allah that has indeed run before, and you shall not find a change in Allah's sunnat" [The Holy Quran, 48: 22-23]. This is not just true about the war that happened during the early Islamic era. The ayah "And if those who disbelieve fight with you, they would certainly turn (their) backs" is the sunnat of Allah.

UN has turned into a tool in the hands of US and allies

If you truly support the Libyan people, if you really care about the Libyan people, you should help them. You should provide them with weapons. You should give them the facilities they need. You should provide them with anti-aircraft weapons. Instead of doing these things, they stood by and watched the people being killed for one month. Now they want to step in. Therefore, you have not come to defend the people. You are after Libya's oil. You want to establish a foothold in Libya. You want to use Libya as a foothold in order to monitor the future revolutionary governments of Egypt and Tunisia, which are located on the east and west of Libya. Your intention is evil. We do not agree with the action taken by westerners, who are led by America. The United Nations, which should serve the interests of nations, has unfortunately turned into a tool in the hands of these people. It just provides what they need. This is a disgrace for the United Nations. Therefore, the presence of foreign powers and westerners in Libya is totally unacceptable. If they want to help the people of Libya, the door is open: they can help and equip the people, and the people will settle their issues with Gadhafi and others. Why do you enter Libya?

Leader’s Public Address in Mashhad; March 21, 2011

UN speaks at length about human rights but doesn't value it at all

The hands of American administrations have sunk deep into the Palestinians’ blood. If a court of law is supposed to judge about the Palestinians, the accused in that court of law will not only be Sharon and the Zionists, rather America, Bush, his gang and American administrations will also be among the accused. They too will be among the first suspects. However, the issue is about international communities and organizations, let alone for them. The issue is about the United Nations and European governments that speak at length about human rights, but they do not really know anything about human rights and they do not place any value on it.
