The Trajectory of Philosophy in Europe was written by Mohammad Ali Foroughi in three volumes. Volume one was first published in 1931. The next volumes, two and three, came out in 1939 and 1941, respectively. The book is often remembered as the first of coherent works on Western philosophy published in Iran. Ayatollah Khamenei had a copy of the book, which later, in 1969, he donated to the Mahdiyeh public library of Rafsanjan--located in a small town within Kerman Province--making it available to the townspeople. The handwritten note by Ayatollah Khamenei reads:
