These days are important days: the last ten days of Dhul-Hijja, the second half of that month. These are important days in terms of the history of Islam and the historical events of Islam. According to the well-known account: yesterday the 24th of Dhul-Hijja, was the day of Mubahila and the day of the revelation of the ayah about the wilayat of the Commander of the Faithful--God’s greetings be upon him. “Your wali is Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe--those who establish prayers and give charity while they bow down in worship [The Holy Quran, 5: 55].”
Today is also a day that marks the revelation of Sura “Hal Ata” [Sural al-Insan] of the Quran, and according to one account, today is the day of Mubahila. So, these are important days. Well, in the second half of the month of Dhul-Hijja, we have ‘Eid al-Ghadir which is a great ‘Eid and an important event in the history of Islam. Mubahila–which should be commemorated and is very significant–is, in fact, the manifestation of assurance, faith-based power, and reliance on legitimate truth. And this is what we always need. Today, we need the same faith-based power and the same reliance on our legitimate truth. This is because we are moving on the path of the truth. We should rely on this in the face of the enemies' hostility, and we are, thankfully, doing so.
For this reason, there is, thankfully, a feeling of confidence among the public because the Iranian nation, public opinion, and the public orientations in our country, altogether, have a legitimate cause; they are moving in the right direction. Sura “Hal Ata” is also the manifestation of the blessing that exists during a sincere course of action. It is the manifestation of sincere sacrifice. Because of the sacrifice that the Ahl-ul Bayt made, Allah the Exalted sent down a sura for them: Sura “Hal Ata.” In addition to being a very important, valuable, and glorious historical event, it is a lesson. From the viewpoint of Allah, when sacrifice is accompanied by sincerity, it will lead to worldly and otherworldly rewards. Sep 6, 2018
These days are important days: the anniversary of the astonishing event of Mubahala, the sending down of Sura "Hal Ata" [al-Insan], the imminence of Muharram and the sensitive events that are taking place in the region. These are important days. This is an important time.
As the whole of faith stood up against kufr(Infidelity) in the event of Mubahala, today the whole of faith in the Islamic Republic is standing up against kufr(Infidelity). As the spirituality, purity and spiritual power of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) and his household (a.s.) managed to throw the enemy out of the arena, the people of Iran will - by Allah's favor and grace and with their power and spirituality - throw the enemy out of the arena as well. On the day of Mubahila [the day Prophet Muhammad (s.w.a.) issued a challenge to Christian missionaries concerning the unity of God], the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.w.a.) brought his dear ones with him. The important point is that the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) selected his dear ones for Mubahila, which was supposed to help distinguish between right and wrong in front of everybody's eyes. "Come! Let us gather together - our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" [The Holy Quran, 3: 61] On no other occasion did the Prophet (s.w.a.) bring Imam Ali (a.s.) and his daughter to the arena of promoting Islam and clarifying the truth. This shows the extraordinary importance of clarifying the truth. That is an exceptional feature of the day of Mubahila. He brought them to Mubahila and told his challengers to invoke God's curse on liars.
Imam Hussein brought his dear ones to Karbala to clarify the Truth
The same thing happened during the month of Muharram, when Imam Hussein (a.s.) brought his dear ones to the desert of Karbala in order to clarify the truth. He knew what was going to happen, yet he brought Zeinab, his wives, his children, and his brothers with him. Like the day of Mubahila, it was again a matter of clarifying the truth and promoting Islam in the real sense of the word. That shows the importance of promoting Islam. "If someone comes across a ruthless sultan who mixes up halal with haraam and breaks his promise to God, they deserve living with the sultan in the hereafter." That is to say, when someone sees such a person, they should clarify the truth through their words and actions just as Imam Hussein (a.s.) did - and he paid the price for it. Imam Hussein brought his dear ones and his wives and children to Karbala in order to clarify the truth. Dec 13, 2009
