Thousands of Basiji students from different schools and universities across the country called on the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Wednesday, October 31.
In an address to the audience, the Leader described the future prospects for the country as very bright and shining. He stated that the continuation of the glorious path of national dignity and independence and power is contingent on boosting national will and determination, religious knowledge, scientific endeavors combined with creativity on the part of all Iranians, especially youngsters, and increased unanimity and harmony between the government and nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei further referred to the late Imam Khomeini's speech against the law passed by the former regime on the judicial immunity of American nationals in Iran and his being sent into exile on November 4, 1964. He also touched on the bitter incident of the massacre of students in Tehran by the American mercenaries in 1978.
"Although the American mercenaries dealt a blow to the Iranian nation in the above incidents, the enthusiastic and revolutionary Iranian youngsters on November 4, 1979 gave a firm and hard response to the bullying U.S. administration through their takeover of the American embassy which was a den of espionage," Ayatollah Khamenei observed.
Further in his statements, the Leader of the Islamic Republic pointed out that what seals the fate of nations is their historic decision whether to submit to domination and keep silent in the face of bullying or to stand up to and resist against the domination-seeking powers.
"In this momentous decision-making the Iranian nation opted for the second course of action, and the victory of the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini was the hard slap of the Iranian nation in reaction to many years of bullying and humiliation and domination on the part of the United States," Ayatollah Khamenei told the audience.
The Leader also underlined the continuity of struggle against the global domineering system. He stated that the arrogant and hegemonic powers would not give up easily, "but they would not be able to do anything in the face of the strong will of a nation and its determination to continue treading the path of independence and dignity."
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the fact that the Iranian nation has undergone many hardships, including the eight-year Sacred Defense, in order to preserve its independence and honor. He noted that today, the Iranian nation and the Iranian youth are inspiring the Islamic world and many other nations, and that the status of the Islamic Iran in the world is presently much higher than in the past.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader of the Islamic Republic referred to the different achievements of the Iranian nation in various arenas and the increased awareness and revolutionary and Islamic motives of the Iranian youth. He cited the scientific progress in the nuclear field as one of the achievements of the Iranian nation.
"The main reason for the objection to this issue that is being raised by the arrogant powers headed by the United States is their opposition to the progress and scientific power of the Iranian nation, since scientific power will boost the self-confidence and resolution of nations, and they will no longer be able to dominate those nations," the Leader told the students.
Ayatollah Khamenei also touched on the false accusations being leveled by the White House officials against Iran charging this country with involvement in the killing of American servicemen in Iraq, and he stated that these accusations are sheer lies.
"The foolish U.S. policies on Iraq have resulted in the killing of American servicemen, and the U.S. administration is also being criticized by the American people for its wrong policies; but because it is not able to respond to these criticisms, it is making false accusations against Iran," Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.
The Leader stated that today, the main cause of insecurity in the Middle East region is the United States. He added that the U.S. interference in Iraq and Lebanon and Palestine has caused instability in the region.
"Different nations have also realized this, and this is the reason why any American official who travels to another country faces massive popular protests. This means the isolation and decline of the awe-inspiring front of the United States," Ayatollah Khamenei remarked.
In conclusion, the Leader of the Islamic Republic told the Basiji students that the courage and awareness of other nations are the outcomes of the perseverance and resistance of the Iranian people, especially the Iranian youth, who do not fear the enemies and insist on their legitimate rights. He added that Almighty Allah will also bestow His mercy and blessings on this kind of nation.
