In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

I extend my condolence to the Pakistani nation and government and also to the entire Islamic Ummah over the tragic incident of the devastative earthquake in Pakistan, which led to the loss of lives of tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters and caused massive destruction and left many people homeless.

The Iranian nation and government share the grief of their Pakistani brethren and consider it their duty to extend whatever assistance that may alleviate the suffering of those affected by the earthquake. I expect this duty to be carried out without negligence.

I pray to Almighty Allah to bestow mercy and remission on those who have perished in the earthquake and grant their bereaved families fortitude and forbearance.

Sayyid Ali Khamenei
