Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Sunday morning with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence highlighted the established and permanent principles and guidelines of foreign policy in the Constitution and the commitments resulting from these principles and policies. Referring to the reasonable and cogent solutions of Iran for the important issues of the region including the issues of Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, he said: "American goals are 180 degrees opposed to Iranian goals."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the foreign policy of the country is the same as the policies announced in the Constitution, saying: "This foreign policy is derived from Islam and it originates from revolutionary goals and ideals. The officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our ambassadors and chargé d'affaires are, in fact, the representatives, soldiers and servants of these principles and ideals."
Ayatollah Khamenei added: "Like all countries in the world, the foreign policy of the country has been founded on long-term interests, principles and values and it does not change with the coming and going of administrations with different tastes. Administrations only influence and change tactics and operational methods in the strategies of foreign policy."
Pointing to the vast propaganda of foreigners about the notion that the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic has changed voluntarily or involuntarily, His Eminence said: "In fact, this naïve analysis of westerners comes from the pressure of this reality that the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic is like a solid dam and strong rock - at minimum on a regional level - that has prevented the rush of arrogant powers, particularly America. This is why they have always craved for a change in these policies."
He described the American policies in the very sensitive region of West Asia as the main reason behind the adverse conditions of the region, reiterating: "Contrary to what some people believe, America forms the main part of regional problems, not part of the solution for these problems."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the Islamic Republic should persistently continue its established strategies in the area of foreign policy. He added: "We do not claim that we have achieved or are on the verge of achieving all of our goals because implementing our revolutionary foreign policies has been accompanied by some ignorance, negligence, lack of intelligence and foreign obstacles, but the current outstanding position of the country is indebted to these same wise policies. If we had not acted on these principles, God only knows what strange problems and blows we would be confronted with. You should continue the revolutionary principles and the established strategies of foreign policy with strength, power and pride so that foreigners and their domestic followers do not even dream about a change in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic."
Ayatollah Khamenei warned: "You should notice that the tactics of foreign policy should be at the service of strategic principles and that you should not act against principles in the name of tactics."
His Eminence stated that the whole world likes the logic of the Islamic Republic on regional issues and that this logic is very convincing.
After this, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution offered Iran's solutions for regional problems:
On Palestine, he said: "On the issue of Palestine, as well as rejecting the entity of the usurping and fake Zionist regime and condemning - in a serious way - the increasing crimes that this regime is committing, we have offered that an election should be held with the presence of all the Palestinians. This is completely compatible with the current rules and regulations in the world."
He added: "Any administration that emerges out of the votes of the Palestinian nation will determine the fate of the Zionists and the residents in occupying lands. Of course, in opposition to our reasonable offer, they have said that this means the collapse of that usurping regime. Well, that fake regime naturally should be collapsed."
On Syria, Ayatollah Khamenei stated: "Our assertion in this regard is the firmest assertion. We believe that it is meaningless for other countries to gather together and make decisions about a government and its head. This is a dangerous innovation that no country in the world would accept. The solution for the issue of Syria is holding elections. For this purpose, first, the domestic war and insecurity in that country should end by cutting military and financial assistance to the opposition so that the people of Syria can choose whomever they want in a safe and peaceful environment."
On Iraq, His Eminence reiterated: "Dividing this country into Shia Arab, and Sunni Arab and Kurdish areas is completely against the interests of the people. It is impossible, meaningless and unacceptable. Territorial unity and integrity of Iraq and attention to the votes of the people as a reference point, form the principles of Iran's solutions for Iraq."
On Yemen, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "Stopping Saudi crimes immediately and beginning Yemeni-Yemeni negotiations can put an end to the conflicts in that country."
He added: "The behavior of Saudis in Yemen and Syria is a double standard. They say about Yemen that they have intervened militarily in Yemen at the request of the resigned and fugitive president of Yemen, but they are not willing to stop supporting armed protesters in Syria at the legal request of the sitting president of that country."
On Bahrain, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The people of Bahrain want nothing other than the right to vote and to choose and we consider their request to be reasonable."
His Eminence condemned America for all these problems, saying: "The main reason behind these insecurities is America's support of the Zionist regime and terrorist groups and that these policies are 180 degrees in opposition the policies of the Islamic Republic."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution rejected the idea that Iran will negotiate with America on regional issues. He stressed: "The Americans are after imposing their interests, not solving problems. They want to impose 60, 70 percent of their requests through negotiations and to implement and impose the rest in an illegal way. So, what is the meaning of negotiations?"
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the title "frontline soldiers and warriors in international arenas" befits the status and profession of officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding: "Considering its goals and responsibilities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is active in a good way. Dr. Zarif and his colleagues passed their test successfully, particularly in their recent experience during the nuclear negotiations."
