April 9 marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, a genius, revolutionary Muslim scholar who was killed by Saddam Hussein alongside his sister, Bint al-Huda Sadr.

Martyr Sadr used two methods for reviving Islam. First, he increased people’s knowledge and understanding of faith. Second, he strengthened people’s revolutionary outlook.

We have many scholars in intellectual and Islamic fields, in the area of jurisprudence and Islamic principles, and in other subjects. However, geniuses in these fields are very rare. Martyr Sadr was one of those rare people who was truly a genius.
