In this meeting, Imam Khamenei commemorated the anniversary of the heroic performance of the Peykan frigate against the Ba'athist enemy which took place on November 28, 1980 which is now celebrated as Navy Day. During the meeting, Imam Khamenei described the Navy as a vital and decisive force in today's world and commended the operational, intelligence, support, construction, and innovation sectors of the Navy. He added that, “The Armed Forces, especially the Navy, in all activities and plannings must emphasis on increasing preparedness and combat capabilities.”
Imam Khamenei asserted that increasing combat capability was crucial in deterring enemy from attacking. He emphasized that the primary duty of the Armed Forces is to prevent any sort of enemy attacks, underscoring the importance of highlighting Iran's formidable combat capabilities so that they feel any sort of aggression will have serious consequences for them.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized the imperative nature of sustained naval missions, stating, “As previously mentioned, the multi-month mission of the 86th flotilla and its intricate details can be conveyed to the public through the language and tools of art.”
At the outset of the meeting, Iranian Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, presented a report on the various programs and activities undertaken by the country’s naval force.
